For all insomniacs out there, too stressed to sleep, too saddened, too alone, too empty, We will always be here those nights you cannot sleep

(((((The Staying up All Night Thread)))

Feel free to share what's on your mind as sleep avoids you..

Or feel free to share what country you are in! Perhaps it is early evening where you live, and you are just a wee bit out of sync with the regular good night thread.....................

i have struggled with insomnia since i was a little kid. people think i am just staying up for fun and that i have no routine or self-discipline/ whatever. truth is, i would love to be on a normal sleep schedule like everyone else; i just cant. too much on my mind and besides, i just have more energy at night and tend to get more things done. i am not sure how to get on a regular sleeping schedule, or even if i want to because i almost feel like nighttime is my time to myself....
Thanks for this!

((((((((Junerain)))))))))) I also can't sleep. It's 5:02am and I haven't gone to bed yet because my mind is racing with anxiety and hurt feelings right now from an unfortunate incident in the past which is now being re lived. I can't sleep because it's all I can think about and have been betrayed by someone I trusted. Also, this tmj pain is not helping in getting much sleep either.

Here's some positive vibes to us and everyone else who can't sleep. May we all find peace and solace soon and dream pleasant dreams!
Thanks for this!

Awesome idea for an up all night thread. I spend many hours in the early morning3-4am just reflecting on things. My mind is often racing and I can't stop it. I just wish somebody would hit me with a frying pan so I can get a few winks.lol You will see me frequenting this thread for sure.

Amanda_1981 I do hope the pain from you past betrayal gets better soon.
Hang in there...This too shall pass.
I love to say the serenity prayer over and over.
BTW I don't drink or do drugs other than what the doc's give me...hahaha

Well, I'm at it again. This time for the long haul. 2:07 am and counting down these maddening hours. I even wrote a song about it, called the maddening hours. I'm so tired, yet my thoughts race and I cannot sleep. What to do....shruggg

Im 23 and was told or diagnosed with insomina when i was bout 12-13 yrs old. I still suffer from it uncontrolably. I was put on Seroquel for a few months and it did make me sleep and i could get up refreshed for my 3 yr old but i put on almost 35 pounds in 4 months. Some times advil or tylenol pm work but then sometimes im up 3-4 nights straight then the hallucinations start and i begin to feel really sick from being up so long. Its a terrible feeling as im pretty sure most of you can understand. Ive tried ambien. I also take xanax, apparently i have a very high tolerance to medications since im on a very high dose and it doesnt put me out, i will eventually fall asleep early, early am but i wake up many times during the night. Ive also tried Lunesta & Sonata. I do the whole relaxing before bed, ive even tried the cd's to listen to, all the remedies dont work. ANYONE OUT THERE HAVE A SUGGESTION I MAY NOT HAVE TRIED YET???

Thanks - Jillian

5:30AM here. What have I been doing all night? Surfing the worldwideweb. Probably didn't help that I went to the grocery store this evening about 10pm to buy food and treated myself to McDonalds Free Friday Frappe. mmmmm caffeine and sugar - just what a bipolar/ADHD folk needs to keep the evening lively.

But in the words of Bon Jovi: I'll Sleep When I'm Dead

Went to sleep finally at 6:30 am...just woke up at 7:45 pm. Perhaps i should become a vampire but their diet leaves something to be desired...and so much for my morning decafe latte. Grrr!

Hi everyone,
I am Jen and live in the USA. It's about 3:20 in the morning. I usually can get a little sleep during the night, but not tonight. Slept about 50 min total so far. I get really tired, close my eyes and the bad stuff starts in my head. I have a lot of past stuff dealing with a man and myself, and I just can't seem to get it out of my mind tonight. I have night mares all the time about that night and other nights that other stuff has happened. I can't stand it anymore. I have talked with T about it, but not very much because am too uncomfortable. Thinking about taking a Valium to help sleep, but usually doesn't kick in for a couple of hours.
Take care and hope you all get some good rest soon.
Hugs and sweet dreams,
jen
