I have been busy today trying to get things done and thought for sure since I was tired I could sleep. But no. I took my usual remeron and the doc said play with the temazepam so I really wanted to sleep so I took it and added a bit of xanax to seal the deal.

Five hours later and too wired to sleep. I am really stressed this week and have a gazillion things I need to do. I made a to do list and it was two pages. I told my son if I could work five days straight 24 hr/day with no sleep I MIGHT catch up on my to do list. It's a vicious cycle because without sleep I am too tired to be effective and then more stressed because the to do list is haunting me.

I sleep an average of every other night and the wakefulness is usually because I have to pee so much and like most of you, too much on my mind, too much to deal with/worry about, yes I like nighttime more than daytime. I think i have an abnormal circadian rhythm; I just like to sleep during the day and stay awake during the quiet peaceful hours of th enight.
I get up during the day so I can go places and not isolate. Also, even my home job is during the day. I can make my own hours, but I'd like to be awake when everything is open.

PS: Sometimes I don't sleep when I am having issues with my husband. "Should we? Shouldn't we?" you know... (mischievous grin)

Melatonin sometimes works. It's naturally produced in your body to regulate sleep. Adding more has few side effects. I tend to wake frequently during the night and it reduces that substancially. I read something about dark therapy once, ensuring you're not exposed to light after a certain hour of the day, and that might help.

I too, have problems going to sleep and staying asleep. However, my job, truck driver, does not allow me the opportunity for a scheduled sleep time. I try to sleep during my mandated 10 hour break. Unfortunately I sometimes "forget" to lay down and before I know it, it's time to leave. Not unusual for me to stay up 20 hours or more without going to sleep.

Ditto to everyone.. Can't sleep, my body hurts(for no real reason) and my brain just wont stop. A mute button would be nice. I'm a multiple do it's hard to get everyone on board to go to sleep. Expecially when the 5 year old wants chocolate and gets a sugar high. Good grief.

So here i am...babbling and trying to stare through this computer hoping my eyes will just close and let this body rest.

Good luck everyone.. i'll check back
until next time..

Hi.

My sleep patterns are rarely normal. They never really have been. I remember lying in bed awake all night as early as five years old. Of course I wasn't allowed to get out of bed then--but now I do. If I can't sleep, I get up and do something.

It's nearly 6:00 AM here and I've been up all night. It so happens that tonight there is a stressor. Our beloved cat (the one seen in my new avatar pic) had a stroke, and I've been worried about her. She's under proper veterinary care and has a chance of recovery, but it's heartbreaking to see her unable to do what she's done before. She is such a lovely cat and a wonderful friend.
