Do you ever get scared while lucid dreaming?
Even though you know that your dreaming?
I do
Its like now that I know that i'm dreaming its almost scarier cuz all I wanna do is wake up but I can't
and then I panic and freak out.
Is this normal?
Also,
what are some of your exciting lucid dream expiriences?

I had a lucid dream not long ago during which I was afraid of seeing a monster (didn't happen, but was anticipating it) and was worried if I saw it, I'd freak out. So, I can relate somewhat.

I wish I could relate xD I love lucid dreaming! I see it as an escape from the real world.

Exciting dream experiences? I can only think of the one where I learned how to fly and walk through windows. Otherwise they don't last very long.

I had a very strange lucid dream about my ex wife. It was some sort of divorce ceremony. There were three giant bottles of liquor and me and my brother in laws had to drink them. The bottles were giant and very colourful. This was such a strange dream for me, because usually I can interpret my own dreams. This one was just too far out there. At the end of the dream we were fishing from the convertible and there was a dead person on the hook. Nobody I could identify with, just some dead guy. It was gross. I don't mind taking a fish off the hook but..........a dead guy. No way!
Well, just sharing my weird lucid dream. Sorry I don't have more gory details. That's all I remember really.

I"ve been getting them a lot lately... ever since getting off topamax and remeron and that scary incidence I had with valium the other day. My dreams are much more lucid now and they freak me out! Usually I can figure out that it's just a dream but now they feel SO real and I can't rationalize that i'm dreaming anymore like I used to be able to do. I feel like i'm losing my mind!

I have many lucid dreams that leave me feeling terrified and the worst part is I know I am dreaming but seem unable to wake up. Don't know how to stop this.

I love lucid dreaming, but the dreams can still be scary. Try to use your lucid dreams to do things you can't in real life. Like running around naked, eating an entire chocolate cake, have crazy sexual experiences, or tell someone something that you can't tell them in reality. You can do anything in the dream world!

Lucid dreams, when taken advantage of can really help us learn alot about oursevles.

Most of my lucid dreaming is positive. Ever have a lucid dream where you fly? Those are the best.

However, I did have a lucid dream recently where I was being chased and hiding from a killer. That was too real for me.

I LOVE lucid dreams! I have them all the time. I've learned to control most of them. Usually I end up flying or having sex or both!

Once I had decided to have sex in my lucid dream twice in one day! The sex is better than in real life. I feel everything.

I love to fly in my lucid dreams. I can summon things and people. I can choose to walk through walls, eat and taste food and explore and touch my surroundings.

I love to explore every little detail of my lucid dream. I decide to open doors and discover neat rooms and places.

I know I am dreaming in my lucid dreams and I often do techniques to try to prolong the dream like spinning or rubbing my hands together (in my dream). Sometimes yelling out "lucidity increase!" helps too. Once when my dream was fading I blinked in my dream and it got clear again.

I have tons of false awakenings where I would go through the process of waking up, only to discover I am still dreaming and had just dreamt of waking up. Once I realize I am still dreaming I control the dream. I choose to have sex a lot at this point. LOL

I LOVE lucid dreams. They are so fun! I can do anything I want in them and it is almost exactly like real life. It's an awesome experience.

I had a lucid dream yesterday. I have a lot of lucid dreams and they are always pleasant, except for this one.... I think it's coz of the way it started out lol.

In the dream I was lying in bed sleeping and then I woke up feeling extremely hot and sweaty. Then I looked at my arm and it started to blister. I touched one of the blisters and it popped and it felt very real. I jumped out of bed and looked around and realised my room looked different and said to myself, "this isn't real, this is a dream." For a brief moment I was relieved... But then a frightening thought popped into my head.... "OMG!! The house is on fire and my real body is burning alive in my sleep!! I MUST WAKE UP." lol....

I was in such a panic. I was trying to tell myself to wake up but it wasn't working. I searched the house for things to wake me up but no one was around... In my panic I forgot that I was having a lucid dream and could make things appear lol. I stopped... Calmed myself.... And thought of an old man. Why I picked an old man I do not know lol. He appeared and I said to him, "old man! Wake me up!" He slapped me. I didn't wake up. He shrugged. Lol.... I started panicking again and running around the house like a headless chicken.

At some point I lost the will to survive and said to myself, "I guess this is it... I suppose it's my time to die". Everything went white and then my actual room started to appear. I was awake but I was still in sleep paralysis and it was horrible and seemed to last a lifetime. I knew it was real coz I could see my cat and he was smooching me lol. I love my cat... Anywayz! I finally came out of sleep paralysis and my heart was racing and I just lay there in shock with my cat for a while hahahaha.

The end!!

I often have lucid dreams where I am right about to die from something (either it be a car crash, fire, etc).. but the weird thing is.. in my dream I always know I'm going to die and then when the collision or explosion happens, everything goes black and I instantly wake up with a startle. I wake up as soon as I 'die' every single time with my heart pounding. It's very bizarre.

I would often have lucid dreams of being harmed or murdered by people. It is strange because I know it is a dream and I am not really bothered by it. Sometimes I do have good ones like flying or building. When they are not lucid I run into problems, I don't know it is a dream and sometimes I seriously freak out. Most of the time when that happens it will mix with reality when I wake and for a few moments I can't get out.
However, I think the worst is waking up and not being able to move, it is like you wake up but the brain hasn't and your paralyzed. That is the only type that gets to me and I don't get those very often

I'm with Greenleaves on this one
I love lucid dreams.

The only scary thing is sleep paralysis, fortunately it doesn't happen too often.

For me, how often I have lucid dreams changes all the time. I've only had a couple you could call nightmarish. The rest of the time they are absolutely wonderful.

However, I would distinguish between being aware I'm dreaming and being lucid. Usually they go hand-in-hand but not always. When I'm really having a lucid dream, I have almost complete control over what happens.

I hope you have better experiences in the future. They can be fun and a release for creative energy.

If you try to tell yourself you are in a dream AND turn your dream into something you want it to be, it will help a lot! I can sometimes do that. Talk to yourself before you go to sleep and ask that you recognise a lucid dream and are able to control it. When we had one where somebody was chasing us, we turned around in the dream to face whoever it was and yelled at the top of our lungs for them to get away! It worked!
