So i have had insomnia for as long as i remember. I did a sleep study a couple years ago and all he said was that I had some kind of disorder where my mind does not stay in a sleep (rem) state but jumps from rem to alpha and back every couple seconds. Doc did not know squat about what that ment wondering if anyone has this problem as well? It does not happen all the time but when it does its like im sleeping but aware, my body gets rest not my mind. Anyone else have this?

That sounds frustrating. The doctor has no idea what it means? That makes it all the more frustrating. It would be helpful to know what it meant and how you could stay in an rem state of sleep.
I hope you figure it out soon.

The doctor that did the sleep study didn't know what this meant? I'd be looking for a second opinion if I were you, or at least find a specialist to look over the results.

The doctor didn't know anything he called it an awakening disorder but i have no clue what that was. This doctor was a specialist too! I guess good doctors are really hard to find nowadays.
