I'd so much love 2 hear from any1 else if they have my I believe "unique" ability 2 be able 2 continue night after night in the same dream. My life really sucks,I suffer from major depression & don't go anywhere or do anything.I used 2 be very outgoing & had alot of friends & have experienced many exciting events over the years, nowadays I can't seem 2 be able 2 even leave my house, absolutely no interest in anything. When I go 2 bed each night I never want 2 get up or even wake up because pretty much EVERY night I dream,& I'm able 2 visit the same places &see people I used 2 hang out with & can continue with a dream that had ended when I awoke the morning b4.It is just soooo awesome I never want 2 wake up bcuz my dreams are so much better than my life, does this happen 2 anybody else I'm wondering?????

My understanding from Jungian psychology is that dreams can be "compensatory," which means drawing your attention to something that is missing from your waking life. What would it take for you to be able to go out again?

Your dreams are telling you there is a big world out there, waiting for you! Get out there and just do it! Your adventure awaits you

So, there's this thing called Lucid Dreaming. Basically, it's the ability to consciously control your dreams. It's uncommon, but not rare. This sounds like lucid dreaming. Dreams can pull either from imagery, which is what Jung talks about being compensatory, or from memories (a Freudian concept similar to Jung's though more literally taken form the memories). Either way, it's a calling to a time before your depression.
