Who else battles with this?
I am now on stimulants to help me as I just cannot get through the following day. It's so bad I have thought it may be narcolepsy. I'm at my wits end and it's dragging me down

I've gone through phases like this. I was also put on stimulants to help. My doctors suspected I was not going into a deep enough sleep to get past the dream stage (they did explain this in a more professional manner but that was the gist of it). Eventually it passed, but I did use sleeping tablets and antipsychotics to help with getting into a deeper sleep. I also had a strict sleep/wake routine and made sure I was tired out every day so that my body needed the sleep. I remember how annoying it was so I feel for you!
Im not sure what the medical care is like in your country but can you get booked in to do a sleep study? They might be able to provide some answers for you. I was always too anxious (and poor) to take this step. Another idea might be parsosin, I was on this at a different stage for nightmares and it worked a treat, you'd have to ask your doctor but it may help with too many dreams too. I hope you find something that works for you! ![]() |

Thank you.
I'd need to look into a sleep study and the costs. I do hit the pillow and am out for the count. But there are just too many dreams going on. Some are just dreams, while sometimes they become nightmares. I took Seroquel to help me sleep, but while it may get me into the deep sleep, it sedated me too much the next day

I wish I could take something to help put me in a deep sleep but I have my son to take care and I would just feel horrible if he could not wake me up. With the medications I am currently on, it took about 2 years to get leveled out and on a schedule to where I could go on 8 hours sleep and make it through the day. Before that, I was sleeping 12-16 hours a day and at that time my mother helped me during the day with my son. I read and find all kind of natural solutions to help remedy this. They just don't work for me however. I am curious as to how others may handle this similar problem. Thanks for starting a good thread sugahorse1 hugs to you also ![]()

I completely hear you. When I first started on Effexor years ago, it was like I was living an entirely new life inside my head while dreaming. Dreams would go on for what felt like hours and I would wake up feeling like I'd pulled an all-nighter.
Sometimes I'd even dream that I hit my alarm clock, brush my teeth and go on with the day in bizarro world, until my alarm clock really sounds off. Oy. That's my least favorite one. I've had two sleep tests. They woke me up around 6a for both, so they missed something important. My sleep used to break at around 6:30a, and when I went back to sleep again, I'd go deep into bizarro world and wake up mentally exhausted. You know what helped a lot? It wasn't the sleeping pills, Valerian root, herbal teas, CPAP, mouth guard, closed curtains, lavender sprays, etc. A guy named "Coma" has tried a few things for more efficient sleep. What worked was quitting a job where I passionately hated my boss. What I'm trying to say is to keep an open mind that a solution might be "so far out in left field" that you're not even playing the same game anymore. |
