I used to be on hypnotics like Ambien and Lunesta but ended up sleepwalking during the night and cooking in my kitchen to no memory in the morning how i did all of that so that's off my medline charts at my p-docs. I did a lot of research and found that a low dose of Seroquel (100mg) gives me a good nights rest without something like a Trazadone hangover that I was on for years.
I have no side effects from the Seroquel and am able to go back to sleep even if I have to get up to go the the bathroom. I've read that doses from 25mg-100mg is the max to take just for sleep and over that the antipsychotic effect will take place but I am fine on my Zyprexa. I take 5 psych meds and two blood pressure meds and am as comfortable in my body as long as my new p-docs doesn't want to screw around with my meds and just saw her last week so I think she will be a fine p-doc for me. One who actually listens to my issues and open discussions about meds without the control factor I have found that male p-docs like to press on their patients. Feel free to post or email me if you have questions. Much Peace. |

Hello and welcome to Psych Central! When I took Seroquel, it put me out like a light, so I agree, it definitely works for insomnia!
