Do you feel guilty just because you think you "should" be up earlier, or does sleeping late cause a problem? If the latter, try giving yourself permission to sleep late---you may need the rest, your body may know best...when you do get up, do something "useful", or that just makes you feel Good. My sleep patterns vary over time, sometimes sleeping too much, other times too little...being older, I now feel pretty comfortable with the changes, I don't need as much sleep as I once did, so insomnia isn't such an issue, and falling asleep when I am tired feels a lovely luxury. I get to work on time, etc....((((((((((((((((hug))))))))))))))))))) You mention the medication but wouldn't that affect you every day, not just weekends?

I go to bed pretty early (9 - 9:30) and sleep until 8:30-9. Medication knocks me out.

My sleep schedules varies, mainly due to meds and if I am having a bipolar mood episode. As long as my daughter has what she needs, I don't feel guilty on what time I wake up. She's older, now, so does fine if I'm asleep. She knows to wake me if it's important. If anything, the more sleep I get, the better.
I don't really believe in "shoulds"...if your body needs rest and your schedule permits it, I say sleep in! |

I wish it was socially acceptable to list sleeping and staying in bed as a hobby.......

I have a guilty pleasure. I go to bed anywhere from 9.30 pm onwards - whether I'll sleep or not is another story. But I never go to bed without my husband (unless he's not here). I get up at 5am to wake the kids for school (takes half an hour to get them out of bed), make lunches etc. Then I get back into bed with coffee. When my husband and kids leave for school and work at 7am, I normally doze until 9am or so. Some mornings I enjoy this, other mornings there are too many nightmares to bother or sometimes I feel guilty. But when there is no alarm on a weekend, I sleep as late as the family will allow. I always used to doze during the day - but that was when I was drinking and physically unwell. Now I almost never sleep during the day.
My meds don't knock me out, but that's okay because I don't feel drowsy the next day.
