So like title sais, how do you fall asleep....
I get ridiculously paranoid when its fully dark around me that im being watched by suits... ridiculous i know, but ill shut my eyes and just stay like that for up to 3 hours in my record, just worried someone is watching in the darkness, I would leave my bedside lights on so i can see if i need to, but i find it really hard to sleep with lights on, its irritating to say the least :') But right now i get between 4 and 6 hours sleep a night, i don't remember the last time i slept a full 8.... Music normally helps my head calm down, but i always wake up a few hours later because my headphone cord has gotten tangled around my neck in my sleep from tossing and turning. Any one got any other ideas on how i can actually get to sleep? or am i just destined to have no sleep and be tired all the time :') Luckily for me i can function from little sleep but its like going through soup to do most things eugh. Thanks in advance, Losthawk. |

Hi,
An idea you might want to research is using the Monroe Institute's Hemisync products. So what is this? in the 1950's-80's there was a man named Robert Monroe. He was a millionaire, lived in New York but he had a problem..he kept leaving his body. So he went to a number of doctors who all assured him he was sane. So he decided to go with his experiences. He then bought some property in Virginia and started the Monroe Institute to research out of body experiences. He then experimented with different wavelengths in assisting other people to have out of body experiences what he so easily had. He would put one frequency in one ear and a different frequency in the other ear. What he discovered was that the brain interprets the delta difference between the two frequencies. He discovered it could assist others in getting to the theta state quite quickly. He patented the technology as Hemi-sync. It has been widely used over the years for postop recovery, insomnia, meditation, etc. If you go to hemi-sync dot com and look under the "Real life applications" you will find "sleep and dreams ". There's a large number of products to choose from. You might want to contact the Monroe Institute to get their advice on which one will work best for you. I hope this helps you. With kind regards, Guy ![]() Quote:

I used to have those kind of thoughts too. It went away when I moved to an environment where I felt safer. Maybe that could help, making sure you feel safe. I still can't sleep well if I don't feel safe enough.
But before I could move to that safer environment, what helped was tell myself "IF something is watching, they have been watching for a while now. They haven't done anything to me so far, and they probably won't. Many people feel that they're being watched, but they never get hurt.. I'm safe." Not sure if that's helpful.. But maybe. Also, for the music, can't you play the music straight from your phone/laptop/something? Then the cords won't wake you up. Or maybe make the cord go up, place your phone "above" your head so the cord won't be resting on your neck when you fall asleep. |

Have you thought of keeping a light on and wearing a sleep mask? There are sleep masks that are formed so you can open your eyes while wearing them.
Also, try taking some magnesium calcium, vitamin D3 and vitamin K and see if that helps. Low magnesium levels lead to insomnia. You need to take type of magnesium that is absorbable so you don't end up with chronic diarrhea as magnesium is a laxative. The most absorbable is magnesium chloride. Magnesium citrate or malate are also good forms of magnesium. DON'T take magnesium oxide as it's so poorly absorbed that all it does is act as a colonoscopy prep ensuring you'll be trapped in the bathroom for the day. Another thing to look into is high cortisol levels that prevent you from being able shut down. One supplement that lowers cortisol is Seriphos. You want to take it in the late afternoon when your cortisol levels are supposed to start falling so you can sleep. The amino acid GABA is also calming as is the mineral lithium orotate--it's a mineral supplement. Both should help your mind calm down.

I count my breaths. I take in breath to the count of 10 and release the out breath to the count of 8. This helps calm my body and get rid of any unwanted thoughts. It relaxes me so I fall asleep. I think music helps but I don't use earbuds so I don't have trouble with the cord tangling. Sometimes I read and that does it. Hope you find some help. Melatonin is a OTC drug you could try. It works pretty good and doesn't leave you hung over.
