Such a chronic problem that a physician needs to intervene? Or hospitalization is required?
(I have tried almost any sleep med you can think of with paradoxical effects. I also have mild sleep apnea have a c-pap and had numerous studies) Sent from my LM-G710VM using Tapatalk |

I am so sorry you are suffering from insomnia. It must be so hard on you. I am not a physician or medical professional or anything but I would tend to think that any insomnia that is more than occasional would be something that one could bring up with a physician.
Insomnia afflicts me but is managed by prescription medication: a medicine called Trazadone. Sure hope you find relief from your chronic depression. Insomnia can really eat away at one's peace of mind and joy of living. OTC Benadryl used to be my "go to" medication of choice for insomnia and it still works, but I am hesitant to use it now that there is some, early medical research that has "linked" it to Alzheimer's disease. There is some question whether the research has established a "cause and effect" link or just a link. Sorry I cannot be more helpful. Hopefully others here will be able to be more helpful to you! |

@DeeeSchmeee68,
Thanks. I hope you doctor is able to help you! Some things that help me with insomnia are: 1. Cutting down on salt. It seems that salt is a stimulant. 2. Increasing intake of potassium rich foods. 3. Increasing intake of magnesium rich foods. 4. The flower called Hops. It is something that is used in beer but can be purchased in capsules. 5. Valerian. 6. Melatonin You've probably tried these things already but just thought I'd share. As you surely also know, it is important to consult one's physician when trying these things because there is a relative lack of oversight in the production of supplements and supplements can have powerful physiological effects and can interact with other medications. Some can aggravate medical conditions. Some cause side effects. I use only a tiny bit of the flower hops since too much can worsen my depression. Best to you! |

I went through years of insomnia. I found what works for me is 10 mg of saphris 2 mg of klonopin 600mg of lithium 1200mg of gabapentin and 50 mg of Benadryl that combo gives me around seven hours of sleep
