Why do people seem to have such odd dreams?

I always seem to dream about two things...

Video games and it's relating topics and very odd situations.

The video game dreams I have (mostly) involve The Legend of Zelda, which makes sense, I love those games.

Then, the odd, odd dreams I have include, wearing pants made out of Lego blocks, getting chased by camels in my front yard, and a school peer singing a Japanese song for no reason.

They say that dreams are ways that your sub conscience tells you things, but what would showing camels in my yard say about my current life now?

I've looked into dream interpretation, but it never seemed to answer my questions. Really, the only dream I can explain was the girl singing in Japanese because I was sleep with Japanese music in the background.

Do dreams truly show who you are? If that's the case, everyone is really, really quirky. Since, afterall, everyone has random dreams. Right?

Maybe your dreams of lego pants and camels are just a compilation of all the wacky things your brain can put together during the night?

Hey, Truth. You're not alone in wondering about the strangeness of dreams and what do they mean. Dreams have always fascinated me. I have always had weird dreams. Some so weird that I find them so fascinating.

Dreams are a wonderful thing. It is amazing what our minds can do on their own. Deep into our subconscious, who knows what will come out, we can not choose or control in any way. From some classes i have taken about dreams.... the symbols (things we dream about that we remember) in our dreams have unique meaning to each person. the hardest part is figuring out that that thing means to you. and in the end, after all the effort to analyze dreams..... suddenly you have another dreams that throws all your past work off.

Do you play alot of video games? Is that something you enjoy? It could be as simple as your mind showing you parts of the video game environments that you play, just to entertain your sleeping brain

Yeah, not as much as I used to, but I LOVE video games, really all games (Card, board, some sports, etc.)

At first, my dreams involving games revealed that I feared Ganon from Zelda. And really, the game as a whole. Though this was when I was young enough to be afraid of really anything odd. Now, my dreams with games as a theme usually welcome Link with open arms. I guess Link is an image my mind understands. This is from me looking back at my dreams.

Maybe in a few years, these dreams I have now will make sense! Like those Zelda dreams! Dreams are fun.

I go back and forth on my thoughts on dreams. I used to try and keep a dream journal, but it never really panned out. WHen I started therapy, my T was interested in my dreams. Just now (a little over a year later) I am able to find some "meaning" in them, but it is hard. What I really think is more useful is trying to find the theme or themes in the dream that is going on in your present life.

I've asked myself what dreams are about many times in the past..dreams are very mysterious and very odd... I used to have a dream when I was younger that I used to jump down the stairs but I always woke up before I reached the bottom..
Or if im scared/worried, I tend to dream but randomly, like nothing to do with what im worried about!

Maybe dreams are meaningless, or maybe they are unconscious thoughts that come out in our dreams if you believe in Freud's ideas..
