I'm doing great, thanks for asking! I've had to deal with a lot of stress in my life recently and it was'nt easy.I don't believe that I could have done it without a friend who is "closer than a brother".

What can I say to two ppl that continue to smoke, to get them to begin to quit? Over the years I have at least taught them to say, "I will one day." Before that, they said, "Never." BUT NOW WHAT can I say? I know they want to, really... but they are so addicted and enjoying it too.. idk what to say now.

I need to start to try tomorrow, because I need to and haven't been trying.

I smoked for 16 years and when I decided to quit I just layed them down and quit. I wish it could be the same for others.

Something I have been thinking about:I have 2 brothers in prison and the prison system in my state is going smoke free. These guys aren't going to be given a patch or any other tool to help them quit.. so what are they going to do? How are they going to quit? Their availability is going to stop. I guess.how is it they can go cold turkey but others in free society can't?

Just wondered... and a BIG CONGRATS!! to those who have been able to stop!

Great job--congrats on making it one yr. I was one of the most "insane " people--I quit for 10 yrs. got into a deep depression & started again for another 10 yrs. Now I've been smoke-free for 4 yrs. since starting on the correct meds for bp I. It feels great, doesn't it? To not be a slave to those cigarettes. Keep up the good work & to all the others who are trying to quit, don't give up! It is such a great feeling when you can't even imagine smoking again.--Suzy

Hi,

My problem is the weight gain. I know I could quit if I didn't gain so much damn weight. I did cut down a lot but I want to be totally smoke free.

I'm really frustrated with using food as a substitute for cigarettes and then going back to smoking to avoid getting fat.
