I do better at my health life style if I have at least one other person to be 'accountable' to.

Example, I want to walk 30 minutes a day. Sometimes, most of the time actually, I need a little push.

If I post a new thread called Have you walked today? and then share what I saw, where I walked, was it a nice day, etc, who will join me and help keep me moving in the right direction?

Thanks for your interest in at least reading my thread.

Vicki

I walked to to the grocery store early today -- wanting to avoid people, and I could do that by walking. As usual I took a bag to pick up recyclables -- cans and bottles. Lots of ignorant people around here who just toss whatever, wherever. Warm but little sun, which is similar to what we have been having this spring: lots of rain. Got home before the rain started.

Hi,
this is a good idea to remind everyone that they should get moving. I stopped exercising 3 months ago and I feel awful and need that push to get moving again. The only walk I've done so far is a 10 min walk with the dog(not enough). To bad you don't live near me we could go together. The only way is just do it, just like we brush our teeth. Thanks for the reminder.

Push Push.

Yeah, too bad, because we could walk our dogs together for longer than 10 minutes.

No excuses, I'm just not willing to walk when it is hot and humid, so if I don't get out eary or go late, I don't do it.
Thanks for this!

Good for you. I hear you when it comes to some ppl being pigs with their trash. Where I used to live, it was a corner lot, and on one side it was the 'county', the front of the house was the 'city'. It was a large wooded lot and pple actually dumped off a 50 gallon drum filled with trash one time. Not to mention all the beer cans, bottles, McDonald wrappers and cuts, used diapers, old newspapers, junk mail, black plastic garbage bags filled with trash....you would think if they went to the bother to bag it up, they would let the city take it away as well. Of course, they had to pay for that. I picked up every week and filled a wheel barrell most of the time.

my husband even had a metal professionally painted sign and posted it about please don't litter...blah blah blah...someone thought they were cute and dumped their **** right there under the sign.

Thank you for picking up. And for walking with me.

Hey thanks for the push, but I think I need more like a kick in the butt to get motivated. I think I going to start exercising again, cause it's been on my mind, but I've been procrastinating Normally I power walk and I also do weight lifting. Hopefully on Monday I'll start. It really does do wonders for the mind

((((heygimm)))) I walk everyday with my dog but lately the walks have
been getting shorter and shorter. Don't seem to have enough energy.
I see the same thing everyday except for a change in the weather.
Lots and lots of garbage here too , nice to get some fresh air though.
Hope you can keep up your walking as long as possible , we are lucky
we can still do that...... Take Care & Good Day

Hello,

Babysteps09, I just LOVE your avatar! I bought my little niece a kewpie doll for her birthday last year because she totally smiles like a kewpie Sooo cute!

Anyway, I like this thread! I started exercising more seriously about 4 months ago. I walk often. I'd like to go on a nice walk every day, but I have babysitting obligations (which are strenuous enough!), but I do walk on a regular basis. Walking every day is a good idea. I need to get outside more.

Hope everyone is doing well!

Thanks every one for posting about walking. I'd forgotten all about my thread, not to mention my walking.

Now though, I have a few good reasons to start up my walking routine again.

I was dianosised with pre-diabetes and I have chronic kidney disease, which I see a nephrologist for on Wed this coming week, the 15th.

part of the way to help both is walking, exercise and healthy - specific diet for the kidney thing. Low protein and salt. So I had the right idea about starting this thread, just really bad "action plan" or motivation. I think now my motivation will improve. and I have no real excuse not to walk every day.

So come on gang, push me, I'll push you. I'll do a reminder to anyone who wants one, if you will do the same for me.
