Last night I went to a Christmas party last minute with a bunch of people I didn't know (I only knew 2). I helped make presents and organized them on the side. Then I ate as much as I could, stopping to try everything (which is big for me cause I'm picky). I tried to be open and casual and socialized with the girls at my table (all of which were about 3+ years older than me) and when it came time to hand out presents, disaster struck and one girl had been forgotten. Well who gave up her present for her? Me! I also gave up my seat for a girl who had a hurt hip as well.

That Christmas party really put me in the giving mood.

I called the doctor because I haven't been feeling well for several weeks. Earlier this week I went to a funeral and my theatre family got together for sharing happy stories afterwords. It was good.

Kitty, I hope you feel better soon. Glad you are going to the doctor. Thanks everyone. I really enjoy reading your posts.

Today I did errends. My brake dashboard warning light went on. I called to have it diagnosed and fixed. But they cant take my car for a week. Neither could any other place. Its winter tire changeover season here. Every place is booked for at least a week. I was told to be very careful driving in the meantime. So I did all my errends so I can mostly not drive until next tuesday. Of course I forgot a few things that I need to buy to feed my friend tomorrow. So out again to the store. Also I finally bought a new humidifier. My very nice one broke last year. But I have to return the new one. It just blows cold air. With no discernable humidity involved. I also bought and installed some inside weather stripping. whew.

I slept enough last night... did my show, distributed Christmas presents, and went and saw my mother for a bit.

Thanks everyone for putting the words here so I can read them. I love reading what everyone writes
kitty, I do hope you are feeling better
Beholden, I hope your husband is recovering well from surgery
As always, Sundog thank you for how you so lovingly tend to the beautiful garden you started here. Where we can all sow words of what we did right today.
What did you do right today?
Thanks for this!

I remembered to fill the bathtub full of water after my shower since we are getting an ice storm right now. That way, if the electric goes out, I have water to flush the toilets with

Ice storm prep 101! Great ice thought.

I do enjoy everyone's sowing of words as well. I look forward to this thread!

My do right today will be cleaning the rest of the kitchen I didn't get finished yesterday. Then starting all over to mess it up. I bought a dog bone shape of medium size on Friday so I can make some doggie treats, but just didn't get around to it yet.

It is icy here too. But OMG, it looked so beautiful out the window when I opened the drapes this morning. All the tree branches are flocked in white. The ground is a winter-wonder-land of white with bits and pieces of dead brown and gold leaves sticking up. Beautiful.

As I walked Jack, I did those little shuffle steps "like old peopel" do....Oh no, I AM one of those old folks!

I'm hoping to do some vacuummnning (never can spell it correctly??) done today as well, haven't done the carpeting since we got Jack nearly 3 weeks ago. Too much real life happening. But I can see dog hair on the glass top table and on his doggy bed. It has to be on the floor too
Thanks for this!

I did not cut. I did not run away. I started talking again, even though I stopped for a while. I didn't jump in front of a car. I did not start an argument with my friend.
Thanks for this!

I really look forward to reading everyone's do-rights too! And I love that Beholden coined the term "do-right"

Hope your electricity doesn't go out!! ((((Skully))))

It's awesome that you make your own dog treats for Jack!! (((((((((Beholden))))))))) Good luck with all the cleaning!!!

Good for you (((((((((((((Lacelly)))))))))))))

Today I wrote a letter to a friend who I've lost touch with a bit. I put the letter inside a Christmas card and I also included a small gift. I had really been procrastinating about writing to her because I felt guilty that I'd let it go so long. It feels good to have written to her now!

Jack didn't like the raw treats, I hope he is better about the baked hard ones. This time I didn't look up my recipe, just dumped brown rice cooked in beef broth, oatmeal, whole wheat flour and eggs together and rolled them out like snakes/rope. Usually I roll the dough like you do with sugar cookies, and cut cut dog related shapes.

Oh Dear, I'll have to wait a few hours to give him one. The way I bake them is to bake at 350 for 12-15 minutes, turn the oven off and leave in the over night. But they weren't dried out yet this morning.

Next time I'll both folow the recipe and make them thinner. I put the oven at 250 and will leave them for at least 2 more hours.

The snake shapes are to put in his "Kong". If he doesn't like them, I'll dip them in the fat free beef gravy and freeze them so that they taste better. Or roll them in peanut butter and freeze that on. I better check the ingredients of that jar gravy, it might have onion in it.

My do rights: I baked the first batch of 'Rollo cookies" last night for the first of the Christmas cookies on my list for the bake sale. I'll mix up some more today but have to go buy pecans first!

Today I had my kidney doctor's appt canceled due to the bad roads, so I rescheduled that. It is just for my routine 6 month follow up anyway and I'm doing great, already looked at my lab results! "stable kidney disease"

Jack needs to return to vet for a quick blood test for heartworm so he can get his Rx.

I'm still needing to vaccum ---- can you tell that isn't my fav job? Dirt will still be there when I get around to it.

The snow still looks beautiful. But it is colder on bare feet than I thought it would be....well, not totally bare, just shoes, I didn't put socks or mittens on when I took Jack out for his first morning pee.... won't be doing that again any time soon.
Thanks for this!

This post is my first one here, but I always think about it as I scroll through. Well, I went to my book club Christmas party today, even though I'm feeling down and would rather just get in bed and pull up the covers!
Thanks for this!

That's great!!!! Well done!!!!! ((((((((Payne))))))

(((((((Beholden)))))) Those baked and frozen treats sound great!!! Jack is one lucky boy!!!!!!

Today I sent some cash donations to a couple of animal rescue organizations and I've put together a collection of old but still usable items from my dogs (old dogbeds etc) to drop off at a local shelter.

I organized all my concert tickets for the rest of Dec. and 2011 and got them put in my daytimers.

I finished wrapping my Christmas presents.

I collected up a whole bunch of papers to to out for recycling.

I went and saw my pdoc today. I paid my credit card bill. I'm going to the theatre to do my show (last weekend yay! I've enjoyed it but I'm ready to be done). I'm going to have a positive attitude tonight.

I think this is wonderful!! Okay I suffer from adult ADD. I was not diagnosed until I was in college. I have been called a blonde and stupid for not listening. So with that said I do struggle with self-esteem issues. So thank you for this post!!

Good going folks!!! Welcome ((((((Hope))))

I bought some new Christmas decorations (because we seem to have lost the box with the old ones) and I got them all at reduced prices! We dressed the tree and it looks really pretty. I love colored, twinkling lights!
