I was just thinking how depressing life can be and how it affects your self-esteem and self-image. I know this can be a tough thing to see in your darkest hours, but it may help to bring you up out of that depression and self-hating cycle we often go through.

Think of your best qualities and write them down...here I'll go first:

1. kind
2. considerate of others
3. pretty
4. generous
5. giving
6. loyal to friends and family
7. respectful
8. caring
9. loving
10. honest

Great idea Lexi......I have to think about it for a while though before I can make a list. I'm not feeling too optomistic right now.

good thread idea (((lexi)))) and good for you and (((cms)))) for posting!!!! I, too, need to think about what I would say, as right now I don't feel so safe that others without my best interest in mind would not make negative references to something I say. sigh.

But, it is good ...this thread... in that, a quality is an ongoing, usual attribute (not the evidence of a stress related emotion Your Best Qualities? )

this is a good thread as it challenges us.

So having been challenged I would say our best quality is loyalty. Bit of a "fight to the death to help/save you if you matter to us" kinda girl

This is really really hard for me, but it is something my counsellor is trying to get me to do too so I guess I should try it.

I am....
Hard working
Creative
Caring
A good mum

as a sideline, this feels horribly unsafe. I can hear voices from my past telling that to say such things is boasting, big headed. How do you combat those voices? Maybe that should be another thread tho - I don't want to hijack this one.

Oooh fun! (It'll make me feel good about myself)

1.) We'll start with something a little commercial....I have smexy long dancer legs! =D Don't laugh for I am very proud of them.

2.) When I actually try I am very beautiful! =D (I know to a lot that sounds self-centered but I am PROUD! I can reach a point where I feel comfortable with my physical appearance and have confidence in myself. Something we all should have. ^^)

3.) I'm really funny. Like I'll say something to make ME laugh and end up making someone else laugh instead. ^^

4.) I'm really creative and know I have some artistic talent. (I just need to master and build it is all)

5.) I am very lovable. =D

6.) I'm very nurturing. I LOVE animals and children.

Your Best Qualities? Love Jen

Love and accept yourself including the voices. Talk to or give the concerned suggestions to the trusting voice continually. I trust that when we expect ourselves to see the light in an issue, eventually the light becomes brighter. I appreciate your sharing and it motivated me to write. Which is a good thing. Please continue to write and review your best qualities. You reminded me to go back and look at my cards with my lists of things I am grateful for and my gifts and talents. Also I am reminded to persevere, to run the race. May this encourage your decision to sustain the motivation.
