How is Your Self-Esteem

I scored a 60, which is pretty good. The advise given is to think about what "I do" as opposed to "who I am."

I don't work... or do much, anymore. LOL :scratch_head: Maybe I need to find a purpose in life... or TO life?

My main reason for taking the quiz was because it appeared along with an article about Empty Nest Syndrome... which I have.

My Results....

How high is your self-esteem?

You have scored 70.

What your scoring means

You have excellent self-esteem. You may well have had problems with valuing yourself in the past, but you have become a confident person with a proper appreciation of yourself. You are almost certainly someone who other people like and admire, and your belief in yourself helps you to make good friendships and relationships. However, your inner confidence also enables you to feel happy and relaxed when you are alone.

You have scored 59.

What your scoring means

Good self-esteem on the whole. But you sometimes fail to believe in yourself enough. Remember you are a special and unique person. Many people in this category feel confident in what they do for a living – and get a lot of affirmation from that. It's important, however, to feel good about who you ARE, not just about what you do. Have a think about this.

Seems about right to me. Guess I have some work to do.

You have scored 54.

What your scoring means

Many people think you are confident and in charge of your life. You're not so sure! It may be that you had a difficult upbringing with parents who were too demanding of you. Or perhaps you have always felt that you're not as bright as other people think you are. Or maybe you feel unlovable.

If you're in a relationship, it's likely that you'll often feel anxious about it. Sometimes you may worry that you'll 'muck things up'. You may also have serious concerns that your partner will 'find you out' and decide you're not worth loving.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

This explanation is new to me though.

You have scored 27.

What your scoring means

The chances are that you find life very difficult indeed. You may well have a number of failed relationships behind you. Perhaps you've had problems with anger, or jealousy that have caused a split with a partner. You may also have found that your working life has been extremely disappointing. But you can change things. Read the 'Self- esteem' article on this site in the Sex and Relationships section and try to do the exercises we recommend. If you do all of these, you'll begin to see yourself in a new light. It will also help you to read the books we've suggested.

You will certainly benefit from some form of counselling. And it's worth trying to get this on the NHS. So ask your GP if he or she can refer you for some professional help.

Finally, many people with this kind of score are actually seriously depressed. Do you think this could apply to you?

I scored a 40, I think I need to look up and believe myself a little more. It's difficult, but I understand what I need to do.

I got the same thing. Only catch is, I don't do anything for a living. Haven't worked outside the home in about 30 yrs, so I don't even have that as a definition.

My main purpose in life was to raise my kids. They've grown and gone. Who am I? I'm a Legendary here. I'm well known and some tell me I'm loved. A few of the younger girls and one gentleman call me "mom." MOM! I love it, wouldn't trade it for anything, but... What about in 3D? Who am I in 3D?

I've "had a think about it" but nothing is coming up. Self-Esteem Quiz

Sky, if it's any consolation, you and I, we are "someone" here on PC; you in your way, me in mine. Maybe that's where we need to take a closer look. Self-Esteem Quiz

My score was 52 or 53. I forget which. I liked the score. I think it shows my improvement.
I place too much importance on work. I'm sure you have responsiblities at home, church, a volunteer organization or something like that. Work isn't the only way to get a sense of fulfilment. I hope you find a place where you can feel that you belong regardless of if it is paid work, volunteer work or something totally different.
