Make-up, Clothes, etc.

I always felt short changed when it came to learning things about make-up, clothes and girl stuff in general. I blamed it on my only older sister who wouldn't have anything to do with me. I've taken a hard look at that lately and realized I was a tom boy as a child and not interested in learning such things.

I have finally learned these things and am so proud of my accomplishment. It has done wonders for my self esteem. After becoming an Avon Representative, I took the required courses to become a Beauty Advisor. I learned so much and am applying what I've learned to making myself look better but also feel a lot better about myself.

I'm amazed at how much difference it has made to my self esteem to learn these things and to be going to the District Sales Meetings and hanging out with other women. I didn't have a lot of friends during my school days but I'm sure making them now with other representatives and my customers. It's feels great and I wanted to share my learning experience with the rest of you.

I think you look very attractive in the photo that displays as the icon here. You deserve to be proud of your accomplishments. Sales can be very hard work, too. It can take a lot of a person. I was sorry to read in General that your husband is not supportive. I can't understand why he isn't bursting with pride.

I don't understand it either! He sees how hard I'm working and even cautions me sometimes not to overdo it. Let's hope that someday he will be proud. It will probably happen when he sees a lot of money coming in. Money always matters to him.

I would order from you too, however I am allergic to most beauty products.

Susan, I just have to repeat, you look fabulous in the new photo that appears as your icon. Even if dh isn't bursting with pride, you certainly have every right to be. You look like a model for the attractive, well-kempt dame d'un certain age, as the French call us women post-50.

I agree!!! Susan, you look great and you're working hard and you should be so proud! A lot of men just don't notice.

I once bought a new dress to wear a wedding. It was gorgeous and I thought I looked FABULOUS in it. I was living with a boyfriend at the time and I asked him what he thought of my dress and he said... "I have always loved that dress on you." Pfffffttt.

Thank you Juliana and it's very nice to meet you. Sometimes my guy notices but refuses to let me know that he does. grrrrrr......... He has forgotten that I'm a mom and have eyes in the back of my head. He is one of a kind.
