I have low self esteem and self hatred towards myself.

I hear you, Buffy, and throughout my life I've felt that way off and on. It seems to come and go in cycles. Sometimes , I feel deep peace, and self acceptance, which I would like to believe is closer to the truth. But when I'm suffering with self loathing, its hard to shake off. I'm 67 now, its been a long road, in my 20s I spent 9 months in a state hospital because I couldn't bear the pain. I don't know enough to really help anyone, you kind of have to look into your own heart and soul. Have a good night's rest

My therapist thinks that I live to much in the past and not enough to the present that is causing me to worry about my future which again is why I have low self esteem that is causing me to have depression and anxiety.

I really don't know how I made it this far, I never really planned for the future, I always worked part time and collected disability at the same time. The future isn't what it used to be. Kind of a joke but true. No one knows what's in store for them . I know its cliche but prayer helps. I don't drink or smoke pot,or take recreational drugs. Those things will derail you. Thanks for sharing.
