Do you feel shame from the abuse? If so, how do you deal with it?

Yes, I feel terrible shame. I wish I had an answer for you. People say "it's not your fault" I hear the words, but believing them is a whole different ball game

Definition of SHAME

1
a : a painful emotion caused by consciousness of guilt, shortcoming, or impropriety

taken from Websters

My T says to forgive myself and place the blame in the proper place (ie on my abusers) My response to this - yeah right

It makes sense that if something bad was done to you that you would feel shame. One thing that I know is that denying feelings isn't the way to get rid of them. Accepting that you have this feeling, and for good reasons, is the first step I think in the journey of working through this to the other side.

Good work Raceka for telling in therapy.
