So I was inthe supermarket and this little kid did something alittle bratty. I cant even remember what..It wasnt a big deal and the mother just let it roll off. WEll, becasue my childhood was so screwy when I saw the kid do this I thought the mother was going to react terribly, the way my mother used to and I got all nervous and then I suddenly hallucinated that all the stuff fell off the shelves in the aisle I was in. Is this a flashback exactly? Or some psychotic thing?

could be either a flashback or a hallucination. if you have a thrapy professional he/she will be able to tell you which it was and the difference between the two, depending on your diagnosis, medication and life experiences.

Hello, I've had experiences like this. They can be very frightening, I know. The last time I had to go hide in the bathroom of the store for about an hour, I think it was. I don't think you're psychotic, to me it sounds like a type of flashback where the past and present collide, with the emotions of the past feeling so real. If it were me, I would try to ground the feelings about the child in the store. I tend to pray for kids I see that I worry about, and then I make a card to "send" to my child within because I've really just been projecting that. I actually put them in blank envelopes in mailboxes. Not sure where they end up, but it's my way of communicating with my past. Not sure if this helps you at all, but I hope so.

Sorry you go through this too. But thanks for letting me know Im not the only one this happens to and that hopefully Im not psychotic on top of all this other stuff. I love the idea about sending the cards. Maybe somebody else who needs them like we do gets to see them. Wouldnt that be cool. Big hugs to you...
