Hi, I am fairly new to this site. Just trying to finally deal with past sexual trauma. I have been diagnosed with PTSD because of everything from my past but am in therapy and feel closer to recovery. No one in my life really understands how damaging sexual trauma is so I have almost no support other than counseling.

Hi, I too have been diagnosed PTSD from sexual abuse, I am in therapy trying to sort it all out, we just started to really talk about it, just talking about it made my voice shake and made me sort of shiver, I did not think it would be that difficult to talk about... Not only was it sexual abuse but also being the product of an alcoholic father. My boundaries are all messed up!

First of all my heart goes out to you. I was sexually abused as a teenager and it led to all kinds of issues especially acting out sexually and getting pregnant a couple of months before high school graduation. It is not your fault, but in a complicated fallen and dysfunctional world we suffer the consequences of the behavior of others.

Now 25 years later I have gotten things together. I am married to a man I dearly love but I wish I could have gotten help a lot sooner than I did. Please be good to yourself and seek the counsel of someone who can be compassionate and not judgmental. No one should ever have to go through this. I am happy though that you are recognizing the issues. That is the first step to getting help

You, my dear, are NOT alone. I was also sexually abused as a kid. It has taken my life and flipped inside and out, upside and down, around and around, and back again. I'm so sorry. We know what you are going through, mija.
((((Reckhaus))))<- those are hugs.
My counselor told me to talk about it more with people I trust. I sort of gave him the "are you out of your mind?!" look. But, so far, he has been right. I have written letters to my close friends (because I was too shy to talk about it) and reached out to others that I know are survivors of sexual abuse. There is still a long way to go, but it has definitely helped a lot.
You should definitely try it too. it's not easy, but I know that you are strong enough to do this!
We are always here for you!
