I am sorry this keeps happening. I don't know how to stop it in myself so don't have much advice except try not to let it ruin the time when it isn't happening, and try to speak to you pdoc about it. I am sure he is more helpful.

I've had these problems also. Flashbacks are horrible, I know. The only good thing is that they show your psyche is trying to work out what has been done to you. It took me a long time to get there. Remind yourself when you go through this that flashbacks are like echos from the past. It feels like experiencing the past all over again, and they can be very frightening, but the real danger can no longer reach you. You will get this all out and heal -- just keep faith in yourself. You have a lot of strength and you are not alone!

be well,

mtd

Hello DG.
I am very sorry that you are having flashbacks at this time. I feel that you just need to tell your therapist that you are having flashbacks about what happened, and not go into more detail until you are comfortable telling your therapist what happened. The therapist can still help you without all the details of the flashbacks to help you deal with the flashbacks in a more positive manner. When you are ready to tell the therapist what happened is the time to tell the therapist what happened not before, or feeling threatened to tell the therapist any more than you can handle at this time. I hope things get better soon. Take care Soidhonia
