When therapy ended last year, I was told to build a network. So I tried to get into a self help group for survivors of childhood sexual abuse. I was told to wait, so I did. Now 7 months later the group finally contacted me- yay. Meeting on thursday. But then on the wednesday before that they pushed the meeting to a day when I have another obligation. One time in summer I had an appointment for a counseling interview and the lady didn't show up.
It is so frustrating to be told there are safe spaces for this topic when they are so hard to find. I feel so scarred and broken and like I need to hide that every day. Not even a designated assocciation who works on this considers me important enough to help me out and not push meetings short notice or just not show up for a meeting. I feel like I am waiting patiently and its so so so so hard to talk about it anyways and then there are all these external boundaries on top of that. Sorry if I'm just rambling but its all gotten too heavy for me and I'm pulling so much weight alone.

You're not alone. Try not to take it personally, it's not, it's the system. Perhaps your gp might be able to help you with this? (not sure how your system works). It's good you can talk about it here. I hope you feel better soon, take care.

This association is kind of the "go-to" one which is recommended a lot here. Asking for help and not getting it is such a devastating feeling. It is good to know that I can always post in the forums. That really helps

Can you e-mail one of the higher-ups in the organization and express EXACTLY what you expressed here?

If they are doing it to you, they are doing it to others and causing a fair amount of harm to people they are supposedly supposed to be helping.

OK so far I couldn't find any information on who to contact. The ladies who organize the self help groups are the ones in charge of the whole division and on top of them theres only the chairwoman and management board of the association. The e-mail-address I have is the only public contact information.
It is frustrating, but I cannot think of anything else to do right now. I'm feeling pretty hopeless, guilty and ashamed. If I do find an address and write an e-mail to complain - what kind of answer will I possibly get? The thought alone terrifies me.

I hope you find the help, and support you need. I don't know how hard things are over there, but in the US it is getting a little better.
