What do you want to say to your abuser?

It's tough to come up with something, but I am going to go with:

I wish you had been sorry for what you did.

I wish you'd realized how much your issues caused pain in your immediate family.

I wish you realized how much you hurt me by what you said in the end. That was vicious and cruel beyond belief -- do you have any idea what that did to me? Who says that kind of thing except someone who is a total and complete monster? Only a monster would treat someone that way.... you are the spawn of the devil himself and I want nothing more to do with you, you scumbag A-hole. You never even deserved someone like me. I gave you everything, and that's how I get treated? How dare you treat me that way, after ALL I did for you.

I don't really have anything to say so much as things I want to do. I'd like to cut off his hands. So he knows he can't put them just anywhere he wants. I think that says way more than I ever can with words.

I’ve never been one to mince words. I said what I wanted to say whether it be by letter or to their face, even said it with silence and simply moving on without words. It felt good to get it out and they had it comin’. Did they care? Did it get under their skin? Did it matter? Probably not. But it helped me heal. Unless they are dead, it’s never too late to give them a what for. Take it from the Americans, we’ve let the bar down as low as it goes!

Fuzzy, you could write the letter and get your feelings out. But, honestly, I doubt they would understand. Have you read the book Toxic Parents? That might help.

I cannot forgive your words, but I forgive you for being such a broken and tormented person in your heart and soul that you have to say such cruel things to make yourself feel better. It's very sad and pathetic that in order to feel better about yourself, and in order to protect yourself from any blame and responsibility, that you have to hurt someone else and make it seem different than it truly was. Keep lying and fooling yourself. I know the real truth.

I actually have a lot to say to her, but I’ve learned that she thrives on having a fight, about anything, anytime, and in the end just devalues me, everything I say and everything I think. So I write it all down, and my replies, but I dont ever show it to her, and that works fine for me.

I think writing a letter of restorative justice is valuable....it says...this is what you did; this is how it made me feel. The letter is for YOU, not the abuser.

Because of you I wish I was dead. And will probably go through with it eventually. I used drugs to escape the nausea that follows me around just from remembering how you made me this way.

May you suffer the consequences in hell.
