My sponsor & others at my home group often say, "Time to do a 552." Page 552 of the Big Book deals with ridding ourselves of our biggest resentments -- look it up.
Thanks for this!

Good one newgal. I forgot about the more positive one of Face Everything And Recover. Never hurts to be reminded. Thank you for that.

Went to AA today and a very nice lady said the KISS one, but changed it to: Keep It Simple Sweetheart, because she is trying to talk kinder to herself these days.

It's alcoholism, not alcoholwasm.

Applies to all addictions - - the disease doesn't go away!

These are great. I forgot about the other FEAR ones. I like those better. 449 acceptance was a big part of my home group and I believe it. Acceptance and surrender doesn't mean we quit moving forward.

Hello All !!!!
I was in therapy today and I wanted to explain to her how it felt sometimes when I took a drink. I wasn't quite sure how to describe it so she would understand. This is what popped into my head,

"The man takes a drink, the drink takes a drink, the drink takes the man."

That could only have come from AA.

Thank you for this thread. I am getting a lot out of it and having fun at the same time.
Thanks for this!

This is exactly what has happened to me. I lost my job and a relationship that meant a lot to me. Is this why that happened? I had stopped going to meetings there and then after losing everything I relapsed. Makes sense now. Sobriety, recovery, must come first.

Here are a couple of good ones (every time I go to a meeting lately, I keep my ears perked for sayings that haven't been posted here yet):

It's a "we" program, not an "I" program.

If you want to drink/use, that's your business. If you want to stay clean/sober, that's our business.
