I have always wanted to do this but never have. So I decided to start a document with all the AA sayings I have heard over the years. I can't sit down and remember them all so when one pops up I put it in my list.

I would be interested in you guys sharing the sayings you have heard. I guess I could google it but that wouldn't as much fun. Sayings from any 12 step group is fine.

I think that the more than 100 years AA has existed that there is a collective wisdom that has come out of all the accumulation of experience by all those people. That wisdom is often condensed into little sayings that capture it.

List yours here. After awhile I will share all the ones I collected.

If you place something in front of your sobriety, that will be the thing you lose. (Career, relationship, etc)

By the grace of God.
This too shall pass.
Let go, let God.

The ones that I personally found the most helpful were: "HALT," "One Day at a Time" and "This too shall pass"

These three have helped me through cancer and mental health issues over the years.

Be a camel. Camels kneel twice a day and go 24 hours without a drink.

I'd like to expand on Easy Does It by saying Easy Does It But Do It

I hadn't heard of some of Moogie's either and I've been around a few 24 hours myself

Not sure why I can't think of more off the top of my head. Oh here's one: You have to surrender to win

Thanks. At some point I will post my list and we can still add to it. I know so many but when I try to think of them I can't remember. Once in awhile they pop in my head. I guess that's how it's supposed to work. Lol

Not sure if this was from AA or not....

How are you? FINE (**** ed up, Insecure, Neurotic, and Emotional) not really a saying if I really think about it, but still worth remembering

I don't want to sound too religious here and want to stress for those not very familiar with AA that's it's a spiritual program where a belief in a Higher Power is suggested, NOT God necessarily, but . . .

another phrase is ego = edging God out
