"It's easy to make an excuse for drinking, but hard to make an excuse for being sober."
Thanks for this!

I would be interested in you guys sharing the sayings you have heard. I guess I could google it but that wouldn't as much fun. Sayings from any 12 step group is fine.

I think that the more than 100 years AA has existed that there is a collective wisdom that has come out of all the accumulation of experience by all those people. That wisdom is often condensed into little sayings that capture it.

List yours here. After awhile I will share all the ones I collected.
Denial is not a river in Africa; Seeds of resentment, watered by the tears of self pity grow into Four Roses. Every meeting is a deposit in the bank of Sobriety.. Ask an alcoholic for the time, he'll build you a clock.......TIME: = Things I Must Earn.....It's a cinch by the inch, hard by the yard.....

TIME; Things I Must Earn

Seeds of Resentment watered by tears of Self Pity Bloom into Four Roses

Every meeting is a deposit into the Bank of Sobriety

Alcohol isn't the answer; it just removes the question.

How Important is it?
What can you do about it Now?
First Things First.

Here is a deeper one:
It's okay not to be okay.

I have heard " think THROUGH the drink"
As in what will be the ending if I pick up a drink now?

Now the old king is dead! Long live the king!
One minute I held the key
Next the walls were closed on me
And I discovered that my castles stand
Upon pillars of salt and pillars of sand
Thanks for this!

Good one jacky8807. Additional to that is "stinking thinking leads to drinking".
Thanks for this!
