I had no idea they HURT so much!

Even with maxed out Vicodin and Ibuprofen I was screaming into a pillow for a few hours.

And my pain tolerance is pretty high...I have broken an arm before and recovered from a csection with less pain meds than I used this Sunday for the miscarriage.

;(

Just ranting and raving in the Female area

I'm very sorry for your loss. Does your doctor know that you're having this amount of pain?

She warned me that it would hurt, but I didn't realize the cramping would be so bad. She did make me at least take the prescription for Vicodin home with me and I am glad she did because it eventually did take the edge off, along with the hot bath idea. I was pretty distraught during the appointment, so she could have told me anything and I probably didn't retain it too well.

Now the cramps are down to normal period level and starting to fade away. The bleeding reminds me of postpartum bleeding. Maybe a miscarriage is like a mini labor or something.

Thanks for the support.

I watched my poor daughter go thru this last year. it was horrible for her. she had had alot of bleeding for a few weeks before she finally miscarried. the actual miscarriage happened at home but she still had to go thru the labor for the placenta. I hope you are resting and taking it easy. I am so sorry for your loss.

I'm so sorry you're going through this. I can't pretend to know what you're going through. I have had ruptured cysts before which hurt like hell and had me bawling my eyes out even with prescription strength Ibuprofen but, emotionally, I'm so sorry you are dealing with this. Hope things get better and you're pain goes away. :::HUGS:::
Thanks for this!

The last miscarriage I had I was 21 weeks (although it was determined that the baby died at 19 weeks) it was exactly like labor. The reason I asked if your doctor was aware of the pain you were going through is because sometimes you need medical assistance. I had to be admitted to the hospital and my OB had to go in and deliver the baby.

I know what you are going through. My first miscarriage the pain was horrible and the bleeding and cramping. I thought I would never get back to normal. Found out, you go through the same healing process as if you had given birth. My second miscarriage, they did a DNC which was a lot easier on me because they scraped everything during the procedure. Talk to your doctor if you aren't comfortable.

She said if I am still having really painful cramps tomorrow, I should return and make sure nothing is stuck in the cervix. But to her it sounds like the worst should be over, and she will see me again in a week to make sure the bleeding has gone down like it should.

Thanks for your concern, AAAAA
