I hate my period sooooo much! (well I guess everyones does xD)... It comes between every 23 to 27 days which I hate because the time goes so quick.. but anyway when it does come I'm always in terrible pain. Espcially on the first couple of days. I tend to skip college a lot because of it and I just totally avoid going out the house if I can. I feel so ridiculously uncomfortable and I'm not really happy in any position except laying on my stomach.. which I can't always do. I'm so figity and I sometimes have to constantly move around as well.
I just hate this all so much because it really stops me from doing things.. and I really hate when I look forward to something and then my period suddenly comes and I don't want to go anymore. I know I should probably go to the doctor so maybe they can help me but I'm scared of going to the doctors so I don't know what to do. I just wish I could find a way to stop feeling so disgusting and awful.. and an easy way to stop the pain. I think my period will probably come in the next one or two days as well so I may have to skip my first day back at college after the Easter break.. :/ (I don't even like college at all btw I just don't want my attendence to get any lower!) |

You might not need to see a dr for one option, depending on where you are and how they do it there, but in England you can see a family planning nurse who can prescribe birth control which sounds like it could really help you. I go straight to that idea since I hate periods and have some problems that mean it's idea that I'm on it, but it also means I can stop my periods for a couple of months perfectly safely. I hear BC can also help with the pain, doesn't for me but then again I can only take certain ones.
Also if you did see a dr they could give you some painkillers to help for just when you get period pain. I know you're scared, but really, what is worse, going through that pain each month or just getting it over with and asking for some help and being in a better position after. |

Did you talk to your doctor about getting some painkillers? That might help. Also, drinking lots of water before and during your period is supposed to help with the pain, as well as using hot water bottles and avoiding restrictive clothing. Birth control may also help, but I'm not on it so I can't say for sure either way.

You really SHOULD see your doctor, sweetie. Having your period shouldn't be that painful. Your doctor CAN help you. Plus he might want to run some tests to make sure there isn't something causing the pain other than normal "cramps."
Please see your doctor. I know it's unpleasant, but you're going to have to be strong -- and go for it. Sooner or later you've got to find out what's going on. You might as well do it NOW before something really happens. God bless & take care. Hugs, Lee PS, Let us know what the doctor says. ![]() |

Mine were really awful when I was younger - such pain and I used to throw up - I did go to doctors and he prescribed contraceptive pill which worked amazingly! I don't take the pill now and periods have naturally got less painful and heavy - you don't have to suffer every few weeks like this - can you say more about why you are so scared of going to the doctors?

Hmm I'm not even sure why I'm scared. There are other reason why I need to go to the doctors too. My mum keeps saying to go but I can't seem to be able to. I guess because I'm so shy and it's hard to talk is one reason why I don't go.
