...who doesn't seem to enjoy shopping? Many of my friends seem to enjoy shopping (as in 'go to the mall'). I don't mind windowshopping, but I've never been one to go shopping for something to do. I go if I need something, but I almost never go because I want something. And so I feel like I'm some sort of oddball.
Thanks for this!

And the really odd bit? If I buy something for myself (unless it's something I really need), then I feel guilty. Sometimes I feel guilty if it's something I do need.

It depends on the type of shopping. I hate clothes shopping. I don't want to have to see myself in those mirrors, they really enjoy emphasising my cellulite.

Next to gambling, I think shopping is one of the top sports out here in Vegas, but the shoppers are rude and so self absorbed, they will run right into you. I like to browse on a not to busy day (i.e. window shop), but I stick with nice stuff that has a realistic price tag. Otherwise, I shop online as well.

Except for clothes and food I now do almost all my shopping on-line.

When I was younger, i enjoyed hanging out at the mall with my girlfriends.

I HATE shopping! My idea of a good shopping trip is: know exactly what you want, know exactly where it is and be in and out of the store in minutes.

I feel the same way. I don't mind buying things for my kids. But not me.

If I have to clothes shop, you'll find me in a thrift store

And totally agree with AAAA, know what you want go in get it leave!

Oh and you will not find me anywhere near a mall for most of the month of December. And if I had it my way I wouldn't be in Target or Wal-Mart either. Really can't stand Christmas shopping and all the people.

What I do for the nieces and nephew (mostly to encourage reading) is to buy gift cards from Borders. I changed last Christmas and got grocery-store gift cards for one of the two nieces who live in Oregon. Gift cards are easy, if only because the reipients can pick what they like (and I never remember WHAT they like at any given time).

It also means I don't have to be in a mall during the holidays. It's gift cards or (for one friend in NJ) online.

I like thrift stores, and I buy some of my clothes at yard sales. Just this last weekend, I bought a blouse and a flannel shirt at a nearby church's yard sale.

I hate shopping. My mom loves shopping, so my entire childhood seems to have taken place daydreaming while my mother shopped. And all my nightmares seem to take place in a mall for some reason... so not my favorite activity :P

I'm another hates shopping. When I do have to buy something for myself, it takes days to work up to and always leaves me feeling guilty. I always know there's something waiting in the wings that needs that money.

I've been told that I should splurge and get something for myself once in a while. Ick. If I have to shop, I'd rather get something for my family.

I never liked school-clothes-shopping when I was in grade school. The most enduring memory of that is someone telling me how hard it was to find clothes for me because I was overweight. In the middle of the department store!

I definitely have to be in the mood but I do like shopping for others, unless I end up with something in mind and cannot find it. It gets a bit frustrating.

Books? Yes, I'd lose all track of time in a Borders or B&N.... Just as bad in a 99-Cent Store--go in for just ONE thing, walk out with five.

I hate shopping, especially clothes shopping. Don't get me wrong, I like having new clothes, but the process of having to try on EVERYTHING is so irritating. I have to spend hours in and out of change rooms just to make sure something fits right. I enjoy buying things I need like curtains or blankets or storage bins. It's so simple and takes a few minutes and your living space looks better afterwards.

I also get the guilt factor when I buy something I want and not need.. so I don't do it often. Window shopping with friends however, I could do for hours and not get irritated.

I've turned shopping into a need it or just want it routine. I do enjoy grocery shopping at times. I love to get the cashiers ticked by using competitors ads, lots of coupons and stuff. Clothing I tend to stick to garage sales/thrift stores. I'd rather spend the extra on my son.

Went to Borders recently--needed a book on caring for an Akita. Since I didn't find that (and had a coupon for 40% off a book), I got a different book. Was a bit frustrated at not finding what I originally wanted (as I'm caring for an Akita).

Hey Gidzmo, a woman after my own heart! I only go to the mall to look at the puppies in the pet store, eat at the food court, and get some exercise with my elderly mother. Oh, and have a starbucks latte. But I find trying on clothes to be a pain. They don't let you bring in enough clothes, and the clothes are all cut from different models, so a size 10 in one line doesn't fit in another line. It takes alot of patience. There's probably more of us out there than you would think.I REALLY haate shopping for shoes the most bc my feet are wide, I call them TROLL FEET!

Went shopping at Lowes last weekend for things for the yard. When we left the store I was close to tears, demanding we take it all back!

I don't like shopping AT ALL. I go in, go straight to what I need and leave. I don't take my bf grocery shopping anymore because he is the type to go up and down every aisle. I think this is another stereotype that really isn't true anymore.
