I used to take public transit and do a set of 10 squeezes on each stop, for the total of 70-100 squeezes a day. That was not so bad. Then I switched to bike commuting, which is a good move overall except that I lost my Kegels routine. I still squeeze on red light, but not consistently, and not enough - probably only 20-30 squeezes per day. This is way too little.

Everybody needs Kegels and I need them more than your average woman because I have a structural abnormality that leads to urinary stress incontinence. My biggest trigger is coughing, and since I have eliminated all respiratory trouble from my life, I am pretty symptom-free, but still, I should be doing Kegels to avoid becoming miserable as I age.

What are your routines and how many squeezes per day do you average?

Only when I'm feeling like a weirdo, but my gyno once told me that I have very strong muscles.

I used to have very strong muscles and now I do not have money for a gyno exam.

Submissive - yes, they are well worth doing, they protect against urinary stress incontinence that plagues aging women as well as supposedly improve vaginal sex. I used to do them all the time and enjoyed doing them and I used to be able to bring my ex to his orgasm without his movements - just by my squeezing. Then we separated and I became celibate and stopped practicing completely forgetting, stupid me, that those are UROgenito muscles - not just for sex but for the URO part. Stupid stupid stupid choice. At any rate, after several years it is very hard to start from scratch. You are awfully young to think about urinary incontinence but you can have more fun in the bedroom squeezing your partner's penis.

I did get into doing 100 of them a day for a month or two, but then I got out of the habit. I need to start again. I have a very mild difficulty sometimes with urinary incontinence, and I think that helped. When I did them when I was a teenager or young adult, I found they really improved my orgasms, too!

100 is good! What was your routine -- when did you do them?

I would just do them all at once...I've never liked exercises where you do, like, four reps of four (just say sixteen!!!)...and it took me around 3 or 4 minutes.

I do them all the time. It's a habit actually. I figured out if I do them during the act it helps speed things along. I figure they're good for overall good lady parts health. They also sell kegel weights.

Yeah, I figured, when I got in better shape in my "Cave of Love" , I'd move on and get some of those kegel weights. Those are my favorite muscles, after all! Unfortunately, I still haven't gotten back into doing the Kegels. I forget a lot. I need to put up a reminder or something.

I figure it this way: If you have exceptionally strong vaginal muscles, and you're having sex with your man (sorry, lesbians, I don't think this will work with women), just clamp down and hold him in tight! Present him with the list of chores that need to be done (and thrown in a catalog of your favorite jewelry while you're at it) and warn him, "I'll squeeze your penis to death like a cobra if you don't finally get this stuff done! And buy me the necklace on page 88!"

believe me do them as much and as often as you can cos when those muscles give up you will really regret not doing the exercises!

Due to my disability i have no muscles to exercise down there and it is is not a pretty sight or feeling constantly peeing yourself uncontrollably!

Maven, I started doing them your way, all at once, and am slowly making my way up the count. Thank you.

I hope we all get our vaginas fit and strong!

I'm also worried because sometimes I leak when I sleep. It's like every few months it'll happen. I have actually woke up peeing myself on rare occasion, but I can't avoid drinking anything before bed. I have to take my pills, and I also get thirsty, and I can't sleep if I'm thirsty. The other day, I woke up and felt wetness between my thighs, and as I got up, I discovered I'd peed (or some liquid had come out of me) in one spot, maybe about a six-inch circle. This is upsetting for anyone, but for me, it also makes all kinds of trouble for my OCD. I intend to mention this to my doctor when I see her again. I told her about a whole list of problems I'm having (I'd written them on an index card) on my last recent visit to her, but I forgot that one. I have to get a blood test and a mammogram, and then I'll probably have to go see her again, so I'll tell her then.

Is 100 a day enough?

maven, try drinking more in the morning/early afternoon so you are fully hydrated before bed time, also fizzy drinks and coffee can irritate the sphincter/bladder and so cause involuntary urination, try to drink plain still water as much as possible at least that is what i was told when my problems started. also make sure you fully empty your bladder just before going to sleep.
you can get a waterproof matress cover pretty cheaply, but in my experience if you can afford it it is worth getting a good quality one unless you like sleeping on a plastic bag!
if you only leak a 6inch circle every few months it may be worth wearing a pant liner in you knickers to bed, if this turns out to not be absorbent enough try a night time pad for periods, if that is not enough you can get more absorbent ones in the chemist specifically for incontinence which hold up to three full releases! unfortunately i am double incontinent so use pads that are more like kiddy nappies...very sexy!
