Hey gals! So yesterday I finally started my appt (by the way the MRI came back normal so its only funky lab levels I need to address - no tumor ) and its so bad. Called the nurse line and she said its normal to be heavy after not having it for so long (Sept. 10th) but I have been soaking through tampons like crazy.

I soak through a light in about an hour and a super in just under 3 hours (so maybe ~2 hours for a regular). I get that its heavy, but I am already anemic - not showing any of my normal tiredness when Flo is in town (though I did sleep in accidently to 11 this am) but i'm wondering at what point would you be concerned or would you just let it be so long as i'm not like passing out or uber tired? Keep in mind that I was told by the nurse that its not abnormal for it to be heavy.

When i had an iud, i would need a new tampon every hour for one afternoon. So at this point i'd say youre still within reasonable parameters.
Thanks for this!

Keep track of how heavy and how many days it lasts. Why did you have an MRI?
Thanks for this!

'Cause I didn't have my period since Sept 10th. They tested my blood levels for thyroid and prolactin - had high prolactin levels indicative of a possible tumor on the pituitary gland (MRI didn't show anything).

What about a multivitamin to avoid anemia issues?

I'd also keep track of how heavy/how long you're heavy and see how your next period goes.

Did they do a CT scan?

I take organic beet root for iron; i just have a bad habit of waiting until I'm lethargic and sleeping through the days and nights to take them lol.

Been there, done that But then I get stuck trying to figure out which is causing the issue -- depression or anemia? Or maybe it's a bit of the chicken and the egg...

Good luck!
