Hello,
I was diagnosed about 6 months ago with endometriosis after a laparoscopy in which they took a biopsy.
My doctor said that it might be hard to get pregnant. I'm not married yet, so it's not a super pressing issue at the time, but I also have this odd fear that no man will want a woman who can't conceive.
Has anyone with endometriosis ever successfully had children?
And how about those horrible debilitating period cramps? Everyone thinks I'm exaggerating, but even on birth control they tend to get the best of me. Is that normal?

I do know people that have had children after Dx for E. mine showed up later in life. Cramps were not a problem for me. The excessive bleeding was.

Welcome to PC Stronger.

Many with endo have children; it can be difficult for some but not impossible, very possible.

Being one who has it as well and managing it for some time, I am sorry to hear you are going through this. Endo can be far from easy to deal with, but there are things that can be done to help it. There was a book that was recommended to me when I was finally diagnosed that was a lifesaver and that I believe is still available:
Dr. Susan Lark- Fibroid tumors and Endometriosis: a Self Help Book

Work closely with your doctor(s) who can help you with this. Pay attention to your body, and on any medications/treatments you do and how they affect you. If children are what you want for your future, do not give up hope and know that there are things you can do to help manage it, just like any other illnesses out there. Know that you are not alone; you are not imagining how uncomfortable it is as many of us know it can be debilitating. Sending good vibes your way. Hang in there. ((((((Stronger)))))

I'd recommend checking out the following site for support and understanding with Endo.

htp://www.hystersisters.com

While my problem was adenomyosis, the hyster-sisters were supportive throughout to me. I highly recommend checking out this site! It's very supportive in many ways.
