Wahhh!

I seem to be especially heavy right now, and I have cramps that almost feel like they extend right through my back!

And nauseaus, and shivery too. I dont have a fever but I sort of feel like I have one.

Does anyone else get the occasional bad period like this? And if you do, what do you do to get through it?

I know its only a week or so, but gosh darnit I am a wimp! Having a bad period! Having a bad period! Having a bad period!

((((((Rainbowzz))))))

You are definately not a wimp...it can get pretty bad.

I luckily am better because I'm on the pill.

Over the years ...after several years my period symptoms would change. The last thing I had experienced was I would only get relief when I had my period. Yes 3 or more weeks it was absolutely awful.

If it weren't for the pill I can't tell you what I'd do. I could not handle the feeling of a non-stop period. That's exactly what it felt like. Getting a break for like 4 days was not cutting it.

I know what you're going through. When I was much younger the intensity was much worse. My world would stop. I'd have to call in sick from school etc.

So you are definately not a wimp.

Having a bad period!

Do you have a hot water bottle to put on your stomach? I know that whenever mine get really bad that tends to help a great deal.

Thanks everyone! Hot water bottle is gathered on my belly hehe.

And, I might just see about getting back on the pill, because you just reminded me that it didnt seem as bad when i was on it. Unfortunately, I get nausea from almost every bc ive tried. Maybe they will have new options though!

I hope you're feeling better Rainbozz!!! I have the occassional horrific period like you have. Never know when its gonna hit. One day I'll be like, oh, my period. And within 10 minutes of noticing it started its like OOOH MY PERIOD!!!!! Lol. My cramps usually only last for the first 2 days. Walking helps, and strangly enough, milk. And of course heat. Gotta love being a woman during that time of the month eh? Ugh....feel better.

Hello sorry to hear you are having a bad time with your period this month. I take herbals Evening Primrose Oil and Borage Oil for pain. (Your Dr can tell you if it is safe to take for pain and menstrual cramps with your other meds, or PM psisci here for an answer). I also take Stinging nettle tea every 4 hours for heavy bleeding and it helps with the bleeding, Calcium helps as well. I hope you feel better soon, you may want to think about seeing a gynecologist about your heavy bleeding though the Dr may be able to give you somehting as well. Take care Soidhonia

That happens to me, too, and it is miserable. Ever since I had my triplets, my periods have been heavy and LONG! I second the hot water, and sometimes for me, as much as I don't feel like doing it, excersize will help. (nothing that requires jumping around, of course, but an elliptical machine or that type of thing)

I hope you feel better soon!

Mine are always incredibly painful, thank god it only lasts for four days. My Mum gave me some co-codamol so I take that, or ibuprofen if it's not too bad. Going for a walk can help as well.

here is what i posted on that other topic about period.
we don`t have to panic, first.

i know this from my persnal experience sincei had to deal with horrible stomachaches, pain in the legs, head ahces sometimes even vomiting.. and SHIVERING YES.. damn. i thank God it`s over ....

just something that helps the PAIN go away-
relax, relax and relax again!
when we react in suffering to the pain we make it all worse. when we stay relaxed and don`t tense up and don`t change our body position (laying on your back is best, at least for me) then we can start feeling better.

i do it like that: i imagine that some1 takes my leg and drops it and it drops drops drops and it`s so luse and so with al the other part of the body-untill you imagine all your body is so loose it`s can be pulled and thrown abd nothing happenes to it.
after a while of practicieng relaxation when having this pain i started feeling warm energy going from my hands to my all body adn had noce images on my mind. i don`t say the pain goes aways imidiatly but gradually. adn every time you do it it becomes better.

"dong qua"i is a good thing that you start taking a week b4 the period is supposed to start. adn then take it on all the period 1 a day. and all the painkillers.. i guess you know..
like "adex forte."

My periods are mostly painless now (don't know why!!) but as a teenager when they were so bad I would pass out from the pain, my mother told me to breathe as I would if I were in labour- long deep breaths (not the panting ones!) and that ended up being the only thing that really helped me. Funny enuf tho, each time I WAS in labour the breathing never helped at all lol! Good luck.
