I just found out that microcalcifications showed up on my mammogram which was the first one in 4 years.
I am scheduled for a stereoscopic biopsy on Thursday. I thought I was okay with this but I have been in panic for the last several hours. Any advice or suggestions would be appreciated. I went out and bought "Breast Cancer for Dummies" but appararently I need the one for idiots or imbeciles or morons, because even trying to read this--nothing is sinking in.

MOST IMPORTANTLY WOMEN, DON'T BE LIKE ME -GET THOSE YEARLY MAMMOGRAMS.

Had a mammogram; biopsy scheduled Had a mammogram; biopsy scheduled Had a mammogram; biopsy scheduled Had a mammogram; biopsy scheduled Had a mammogram; biopsy scheduled

sending you the above care.... and then some.. and some more on top of that...

getting those words "biopsy" takes your breath away "doesn't it"?
no woman wants to hear those words...

Until they do the biopsy, there really isn't alot you can do except try and take some deep breaths

And as my doctor has told me twice now that chances are good that the biopsy will be fine...

Then she and a nurse both told me about all tremendous advances in breast care that we have and all the options....

And I believe them, having also gone thru a surgical lump removal that turned out also fine.

And I like you had not gotten my yearly, I had skiped 3 years.. which makes the pressure greater...

Pm me if I can help.. even to listen....

Try to relax (I know easier said than done). I heard a doc on tv today talking about how something like 60% of the people that have a mamogram then have a biopsy and 80% of the biopsies come up fine.

I'll send some cosmic healing vibes your way Had a mammogram; biopsy scheduled

GOOD NEWS!!!!

My biopsy was negative.

Thanks tranquility, sky and freewill for your concern.

Like I said before I had gone 4 years without a mammogram. I won't be doing that again.

And very importantly these masses that were found while they turned out to be noncancerous, were not detectable by self breast examination. Making yearly mammograms all the more important.

I was very fortunate this time. I won't neglect my physical health again though.

Love to you all,

Meta
