Yeah I'm sure everyone says this!
My legs r a different size then my waist. They never match. I like my jeans my my hips but they end up sliding Bec my belly must push it down & I have no butt to keep it up! So frustrating. Then I have to put a dart in the back & im not very good on the sewing machine. I also keep jeans in several different sizes. Anyone else do that? Yeah stupid hope "oh I'll fit back in those!" Not! Now yes I like jegging but I'm still partial to jeans but it just takes forever to find the right ones. Low rise. Mid rise. Natural waist. Boot cut. Straight cut. Yadda Yadda yadda! Omg

Oh my god yes, I get so frustrated with trying to find the right size (I'm not super tall but have long legs so they ride up at the ankles). Jean sizes are not created equal--for example a size 4 in one brand equals a size 6 in another. And ordering a size with custom measurements can get expensive. Anyway, don't feel bad, there are plenty of YouTube videos on tailoring that you might wanna check out, and cool belts never hurt either!

I used to have the same problem. I have thicker/muscular type legs. My waist used to be small and to get jeans to fit in the legs, the waist gapped badly. After having a kid, my waist thickened up so they are fitting better but it's still a problem with some styles/brands.
Jeans are uncomfortable for me. The material is painful. I adore jeggins. They allow me to wear jeans and feel like comfy stretch pants. Levis fit me pretty good as far as brands go. But I hear ya, it's a struggle. They make clothes for average proportioned people. Women vary in size/body shape that it's no wonder we have this issue. Maybe find a good tailor? It can be reasonably priced and you will end up with a custom fit. Better to buy larger and have them taken in. In a perfect world, we wouldn't need to worry about this, but it is a first world problem so we must adapt. Good luck in the jeans department. Genes makes jeans hard. |

Stretchy jeans can be good (don't like them too tight personally though).
I'm not a standard shape, narrow hipped but chunky thighs/calfs - that's running for you. To fit on the legs they gape on the waist - belts have helped. |

I can't really wear skinny jeans as my calves and ankles are thick, and if I find a size of jean that fits them, then it's too big in the thigh and hip area and I get a bad case of saggy butt and require a belt to keep the sag to a minimum. I have a pair of stretchy skinny leg jeans that I absolutely love, but for some reason, my big fat gut always causes the fly in them to unzip and I wind up with it down and not even realizing that it happened. So I walk around public with my fly down and my panties in plain site and am none the wiser.

I think it's great that we now have more of a selection. Growing up my mom insisted that my pants go to my waist. I always pushed them down...which gave me saggy crotch.
Now I notice my DD wears everything on her hips. The issue comes in the shopping. I need 2 pairs of the same jeans Bec I'm usually I between sizes & then all the different cuts. Really I'd love someone to come w/me & just run back & forth from the rack till I find something right. But I get frustrated quickly & usually someone is complaining about waiting so I just bag it.

I so know what you mean about how hard it is to find ones that fit. I found a company that made some that were just right and no tailoring needed fro several years now. However, then they were going out of business, **sigh***, so I bought some sizes up and down from where I am so I don't have to hunt, especially as I tend to fluctuate.

I've always had a much smaller waist than hip/thigh size ratio no matter what size I am. I stick to stretchy jeans, mostly prefer the elastic waist type. But I have found other zip jeans that fit well in all places. If you shop online maybe you could try 3-4 different brands to see which fit best. I can get you some links if you want me to.

I don't wear jeans because I don't like the way denim feels but I have trouble finding pants that fit.

A good belt, preferably without a set number of notches, not that notches can't be made, is key, I've found with pants of any fabric.

Yess! I was just thinking about this, I think I wear about three jeans consistently throughout the week..yes,they're washed
![]() But, I FEEL your pain. I went to the mall last weekend in hopes to buy me a pair of jeans, I tried 5 and didn't like the way none looked or fit. And what's up with all these ultra-skinny jeans? I prefer not looking even skinnier than what I already am. I like a not so tight not so baggy fit, but it feels like now all they're selling is ultraa-skinny jeans, had a hard time searching for some plain ol' curvy straight leg fit. I thought I was just being picky, but jean shopping takes a while by the looks of it..

It's weird for me too because I don't have much of a butt so that gap causes my pants to sag. So I'm constantly pulling up my pants, or I have to make sure I wear a belt. It's pretty annoying.

Most jeans tend to be a little to long for me. I'm only 5'4, and most of the time, most jeans end up being about 2-3 inches to long. Also, I have a weird body type. I have a big gut, kind of flat butt, sort of big hips and thighs, and chunky calves too.
I have finally managed to find a good pair of stretchy jeans that fit me fairly well at a place called Stein Mart. They have a website, and the prices are reasonable. I got a Seven for all Mankind pair of jeans there that stretch for about $40. Nordstrom Rack also has a large selection of low cost designer jeans in all kinds of cuts. I was able to find a decent boot cut jean that wasn't made with stretchy material in a big size (16), ugh that wasn't ugly or matronly looking in a brand called KUT I think. Also, JAG jeans and NYDJ (not your daughters jeans are good stretchy jeans too). As for jean sizes, they're so weird. I vary between a 12-14 in them usually. Finding the right pair is hard to do. You have to try on a ton of different styles and brands before you can find a decent looking pair that flatters your body. This is why I prefer to wear stretchy pants and dresses. |

Due to my health condition and medicinal cocktail, I've had major weight fluctuations. Almost all my clothing now doesn't fit me. So I'm on the heavier end.
I'm living in yoga pants, leggings and anything stretchy. Luckily most of my shirts are loose fitting anyways. Gosh how I'd love to fit into my dress pants again though... Sent from S6 Edge using Tapatalk.

Have been lucky all jeans that fit are a Size 4 SHORT/petite (5'1") in all brands. Being short I like the straight narrow legs they my legs look longer than they really are & also work easier with boots. Also like the ones that come just below my waist (natural waist?). Also like mid rise so when I tuck in my shirts it gives a much flatter look. Material also has to be stretchy because after washing the need for them to stretch is great.
I wear some elastic waist legging colored jean material pants for when I wear outside tops & want to match colors with the pants. I was given a pair of leggings for Christmas. I looked at the size & it was a 0 ![]()

i don't like jeans or wear them. i don't like the material and they are always too loose or too tight. so i wear sweatpants or pj bottoms. of course it doesn't look as nice but more comfortable for me.

I seem to have the most trouble with the hips and waist sizes/measuring. I've gone as far as getting multiple sizing charts from different websites and writing them down in my notebook to compare. By the looks of most of the jeans that are made, it feels like my waist and hip size just do not match lol. When it comes to legs, I get short sizes or I get them hemmed when I can, but it seems like the pants are baggier in certain areas and tighter in others >.>. It's a real struggle lol. It seems to be a common thing though. Maybe there's just something wrong in the way jeans are made and the sizing structures are limited.
I wear shorts and non-denim bottoms whenever I can. Although I do like some jean styles for sure. |
