I haven't showered in 5 days, give or take. I've lost count. I'm tired. The power going out for about 4.5 hours yesterday didn't help.

@lillib I haven't showered in a while either. I can relate. But I have been washing up at the sink. For me that's easier than getting in the shower all the time. But tomorrow I plan to shower cause I want to go out to eat somewhere.

@raging vortex I hope the pain eases soon.

@Deilla I hope the chili is good.

@lillib I have been in the same clothes for a few days myself. I am going to get washed and dressed tomorrow morning.

Today was a decent day. I had some yummy food for my birthday. I was a little emotional at one point because I had too many thoughts in my head but overall it was a good day.

@88Butterfly88 glad you had a good day. And yes, my chili was really good. This week is my birthday too. I think I will try to cook something yummy to celebrate.

@Deilla

I hope your birthday week is filled with fun, joy, laughter, relaxation, and affirmations! What day is your birthday? Will you let us know? It would be nice to wish you a happy birthday on the day of your birth.

I miss chili. I'm glad your chili was good! Yum!

I'm sorry you struggle with that, too. Thanks for helping me to not feel so alone, though I think that came out the wrong way because then we'd all be funky together. Joking (or trying to). Seriously though, your idea of washing up in the sink is a good one! In some countries, residents don't shower all the time; they take sink baths or what not, but they shower like once every few days or even once a week. Still, I want to shower every day, but I just don't have the energy. It's nice to know that there are others who understand our struggles.

I hope you feel better! I'm so sorry you're in pain.

You have so many helpful words for so many people, including me (us), which has helped us. Even the stories for our littles really help us! I hope some of what you share is received by you, too, since you deserve to feel safe, be pain-free, and have a ton of community support (we all deserve that, in fact).

Let us know how you're doing today.

How are you today?

Also, I must have missed the answer somewhere, but you bring up a good question: "What is a dry pie?"

@raging vortex I think one of your last posts mentioned "dry pie." Can you help us figure out what that is?

PS: I suck at cooking, so I must have missed the reference. Is it an overbaked pie? Or a pie with not enough filling?

I hope both of your are doing well today.

Thanks @lillib

I am doing pretty well today. I was outside in the son all day yesterday, and it is still very hot in Houston, so I wasn't feeling too good. But today I was able to stay inside with the air conditioning, so I feel better.

@downandlonely

Your outing yesterday with your son sounds like fun! I'm sorry about the heat though, but glad you were able to enjoy the comforts of a good a/c!

Happy pre-birthday! (I'll probably post again on the 24th with bigger texts and some emoticons. Hee hee, I'm trying to make good use of all the tools on PC.)

My daughter's birthday is a day ahead of yours, on the 23rd. I don't have money for a gift yet, but I spoke with the adoptive mom and plan on sending her a gift and a card next month, when I do have money. I feel so bad. I wanted to send her something on her 17th b-day right on the day of her birth. My relocation out of state took most of my money, so I feel bad for not having the means to celebrate in time. I hope she isn't too upset.

LOL. Okie dokie.

@downandlonely

Pets are family, so yes, let's - we can call your boy cat your son, but only if you want to. Hee hee.

I'm glad you enjoyed some good old-fashioned vitamin D. Yay!

it was me making a joke.

so: I posted that message after I'd eaten chicken pie for dinner

I didn't enjoy it, and thought the pie was a bit dry, and lacked sauce.

I felt weird and random that night, so figured i'd make it ryme.. a " dry pie"

aqa a regular pie without enough sauce

lol

@raging vortex

LOL

With all the new slang going on - from many generations and eras - it's hard to keep up sometimes with the lingo. Thanks for explaining that it was a joke. I was beginning to wonder how long I had been away from socializing, and if "dry pie" was a new thing. ROFL

I now can't help but wonder:

if a dry pie was slang for something, what would it mean?

what have I started. lol

@raging vortex

You stole the thoughts right out of my head, or the words right out of my mouth! Hee hee. I wonder if this is how slang gets started. Hmm... since you coined the phrase, "dry pie," it's only fair that you define what that new slang term means. I cannot wait!

Today I had my pumpkin pie I've been wanting. It was so good. All this talk of pie. I want a strawberry pie next. I might have to make it myself. It was a good day today.

@raging vortex our time changes next week. I thought it would have been today but no. I get confused with my bedroom clock. But I know what you mean about Alexa. It's so cool!
