As scary as it is having to go back, often the 1st abnormal result is a 'false' abnormal. But either way you have to look after YOU, and by getting everything checked out properly you can give yourself the best chance at good health that you can. Good luck and I hope things turn out ok for you.

I just went thru the same thing and I for one went back for my second pap smear (still waiting for the results from that one)..... I would urge you to go back for your follow up as well - for it is better to catch any medical problems up front than next year when you go back for your yearly.

(((((Freewill))))) I’m SO sorry that you’re going through this. I know exactly what you’re feeling right now! I have never had a pap without abnormal cells in the past 20 odd years. I’ve had biopsies 5 times. And a note, if you’re going in for a biopsy (probably redo pap first, if still abby then a biopsy) you’ll need feminine hygiene supplies. No one bothered to tell me that the first time, and boy what a mess!

I would NOT recommend ignoring the situation. A few minutes of discomfort is worth being safe rather than sorry. Good luck hon!

I feel for you. You have to go. It could be nothing.

My thoughts are with you. Let us know the results.

I went back today... for my second pap...

it is hard... when you sit there... with the little paper.. thingie they give you... not that I am that modest... but the wait.. and sitting... well after awhile.. it physically hurts....

so... eventually... I gave it up... and I laid down... curled up.. used the pillow....because... "everything" was hurting today...

why do they leave you... in the room... sitting on a table.. mostly naked.. and.. expect.. that you will just "sit"... in that position..

in what seeeeeeeeemmmmmmmmmmmss... like forever...

so... I guess.. I didn't care... whether.. the dr.. liked it or not.. laying down... curled up.. was comfy.....
