I think you mean cognitive intelligence in one narrow area of human pursuit, while the other poster meant patience, emotional toughness, perseverance in the face of challenges, mental flexibility... such things. I might be wrong regarding what the other poster meant.

I never felt like this. I’m 105 lbs, 5’ 2” so I’m used to being a diminutive person lol. I work a physical job but some of the heavier tasks I delegate to stronger women or men.

Maybe this is to do with environment? I live in a fairly safe area. It’s not so big it’s anonymous, there’s generally a community vibe still. I walk to work in the early darkness and feel safe. I don’t tend to think of the harm men can do me because it’s not something that has happened I guess. Apart from one rough boyfriend years ago but that was someone I knew, I got away from him thankfully.

But I know other women will have very different experiences.

I googled women in chess. It shows that in US, only 13% players are female. Also this answer to why chess is so male dominated:
The “participation rate hypothesis” proposed by some researchers holds that the sex difference at the top in chess arises simply because so many more males play and statistically there are likely to be fewer females at the top due to their under-representation.

Also chess is just one sport, and there’s a gender bias against girl players already.

What about all the women who did great things DESPITE all the discrimination and discouragement? That’s some hurdles men would never have to deal with. I think overcome that shows great resilience and mental strength.

I’m about 5’ 5” and 126 lbs, no Wonder Woman 🧍 either! I see some women delivering heavy packages and wish could do that.

I’m envious and shocked that you walk alone in the darkness! It’s so different here and I don’t even feel safe during the day! I’m as tense as a coiled snake, alert and aware. Feel I’m looking over my shoulder all the time. Whether driving or walking I stay aware on if I might be followed by someone.

The news had yet another story about random women getting beaten up by men, enough to put them in the hospital. Totally unprovoked attack. I don’t remember if it was night or day but it doesn’t matter. It’s sick and all I can think about when out and about is the harm men CAN do. Not all I know but I’ve never heard of men attacking other men this way.

This was known long ago. During the race to space nasa tested both men and women and found women to be better suited to the rigorous conditions but hushed that up and discriminated against them. The human calculators double checking the early computers were women. Women are more durable and can withstand more pain. Men are just a flash in the pan strong. Decades of discrimination has produced women who believe men are superior when they are not. Much of this is how you perceive things and how you’ve been taught to believe.

Other negative experiences with men have all revolves around manipulations and my emotional vulnerability and susceptibility. Never around being physically weaker.

On a separate note, I like strong physique in men but only up to a limit. I find the bodybuilders' bodies funny rather than attractive.
You're threats scared them and weakened them I think. If you were alone with them in a locked room you wouldn't have been able to fight them off. Did you see that fight where Lucia Rijker got her butt kicked by some man?

Why are there separate divisions in the first place? Why can't the 13% women chess players play against the rest of the men?

I was raised to grow up and get married, submit to my husband, have babies (mostly sons), satisfy my husbands every sexual need, and spend my days cooking and cleaning. If my husband beat me it was my fault for making him angry.

Basically brawns rule over brains sadly. If women are just as or more mentally capable as men then what's the use of having our brains if men can prevent us from using them? Someone said women were denied opportunities. By who? By men. How? Because men are physically stronger than us and used their power to stop us. Think about this ladies. If men decided that they wanted to take all of our rights away they could easily do it. I don't care how intelligent the woman is. She could be an astrophysicist, brain surgeon, and a rocket scientist. Any man could still knock her out with ease. What could a group women that smart do against an army of men telling them they are not allowed to get educations? What would you ladies do if men decided to take our rights away? Fight them? No. We would lose horribly. They would brutally beat us and unalive us if we tried. Sad reality is that men gave us women our rights and they can easily take them away. I doubt any woman here would be willing to fist fight a man for the right to vote or get an abortion or something. If we did we would lose the fight and still lose our rights anyway. No offence. I hope I'm not sounding disrespectful. But there's a huge reason men are the dominate sex. There is a reason we women have been oppressed for millennia. There's a reason armies are all men in war. Because of their vast physical strength.

The first time, I was in a forest. The attacker was not strong (below average physique, not particularly muscular) and he was drunk. He was a man whom I did not know. He approached me from behind as I was walking.

The second time, I was in my apartment which was a townhouse. The fight occurred on the carpeted stairs. My toddler son was sleeping in the room very close by behind a closed door on the second floor. It was in the age before cell phones. The landline phone was in the living room downstairs and I had no access to it and the attacker knew it. He also must have realized that I was trying to avoid waking up my son: I tried to keep the sounds of the fighting low and the verbal threats were also uttered not loudly. The attacker was very muscular and strong and he was not drunk. He was a health nut. He was a visitor whom I knew. He wouldn't take a no for an answer.

Read about Judit Polgar (now retired from chess) who played vis-a-vis Garry Kasparov.

Judit Polgar - Wikipedia.

Yes, but that is a privilege we have as women: we do not need to fear draft for ourselves. For our sons, yes, but not for ourselves.

Did either of those men punch you once? Have you ever been punched by a man in your life? I have and I couldn't stand against it no matter how big and strong or small or weak the man was. I took MMA and weightlifting and smaller weaker men still kicked my *** no matter hard I fought. My strength and training couldn't compete against a man's natural strength. Blood, bruising, swelling, pain. I'm not saying this to get anyone to feel sorry for me. I don't want people to feel sorry for me. I'm just stressing how powerful men are compared to women. What would you do if one of those men randomly punched you? Which I hope never happens to you. But if it did you wouldn't be able to stay standing on your feet. Again, no offense. I am grateful still that you and your son never got hurt. I hope those men are in prison getting raped to this day.

Exactly. Because we are physically weaker than men. The same men politicians who can draft our sons are the same men politicians that can take rights away from our daughters. Some of our sons are also woman beaters, rapists, and serial killers. Some of our sons also don't agree with women's rights. Our sons have the physical strength to rebel and fight against the other men politicians. Whereas us physically weaker women wouldn't stand a chance. Like I said men allowed us women to have our rights. Women having rights is a brand-new thing basically. I'm terrified that we women are going to lose all our rights we fought so hard for. It started with overturning abortion. Now they are trying to ban contraceptives. Next men will take away our right to vote. Our husbands will be able to beat and rape us with no consequences like they used to be able to. Then we will be killed for being raped. Just you wait and see. I'm terrified for the future of our daughters not our sons.

No, they did not punch me. The area attacked in the first case focused on my pelvis, i.e. the object of desire. In the second case, on my whole body (he had an unusual build, tall, with very muscular upper arms but at the same time narrow shoulders).

No, I do not want for these men to be raped in prison.

There are women who supported taking away abortion rights. There are men who are pro-choice. It is not that simple.

I think if the area I lived in was risky I’d be more worried, but it feels safe. I have colleagues who come to work from another area of the same town who don’t feel safe walking so they get a taxi which is a big daily chunk from a minimum wage job. I’m always very aware of my surroundings and there’s enough random early morning dog walkers to feel not completely alone. I wish we all could feel this safe more consistently.

I did read young men are statistically the most at risk from physical (not sexual) assault but most people don’t perceive them as being more at risk. I think we’re all rightfully aware of the awful sexual motives some attackers may be harbouring against women.

That said my young son just got back from a European city break and he said he was aware his female companion was targeted by aggressive beggars when she was alone. Whereas he wasn’t…. He believes because he looks like he can handle himself (probably true as he’s visibly muscular).

Off topic a bit LadyMe, but never read The Handmaid’s Tale or the sequel The Testaments. It’s fiction but speculative fiction. The men are in power and armed. Chilling and gripping book. You are right that men make the laws as with abortion. We outnumber men but they do have advantages over women that they have had for millennia.
