I just noticed something that I'm not sure I realized before.

For me, it seems like I am a lot more calm/happy/less depressed the week before my period and during. But then I turn into a complete ****** right around when I would be ovulating.

Isn't PMDD or PMS usually worse right before your period?

Is it weird that I'm like completely opposite of that? Or am I just dreaming it all up?

No.... I am like that too and I have always thought that it was weird. I get so depressed about a week-10days after my period for like 3-4 days. Do you have children, Razzle.... because I have always wondered if this effected that? I have 4 children. I have such a horrible time..... I'm sorry that you do too but it is comforting to know that I am not alone in this.....

I do have one girl, 2-1/2 years old. I think my hormones are still catching up to giving birth.

I've seen the Yaz commercials, but I'm scared of a daily pill because I got pregnant on the pill before, because I didn't always remember to take it at the same time every day.

I'm using a NuvaRing right now for bc.

It is the week before my period right now (sorry TMI) and I actually feel GREAT. Which is odd, right? Most women get PMS right before. But I will almost guarantee you - I'm probably going to crash the week or two AFTER my period.

Some women go on the pill for help with regulating their hormones but because they have trouble remembering to take it at the same time every day they use alternative methods of birth control.

Thats what I do, for example.

It might be worth going on the pill for hormone regulation to help with your moods even though you use alternative methods of birth control.

Yes, Razzle
I agree with Kim..... maybe you should try it for the hormone part of it and if it works than you will feel better and it will be worth it but you can still use an alternate type of bc.
I am the same as you.... I crash about a week after I stop bleeding, but feel great before and during my period.

Have you tried increasing your Iron intake (especially during your period)? The flatness could be due to the loss of blood (the loss of iron in the blood in particular). I'm wary of vitamin tablets because I'm not sure how well our body actually absorbs the vitamins out of the tablets when it isn't present in a food form... But lots of green leafy vegetables (if you can manage it) like brocolli and spinach (awesome in currys and stirfrys)

I have a bit of trouble when I'm ovulating, too. Not my mood so much (I don't think) but more stabbing pains sometimes... Do you get pain while ovulating at all or is it just that you notice the change in your mood?

I ask because pain while ovulating could be to do with low level PCOS symptoms (in which case the pill for hormone regulation could be just the thing).

I'm on the pill for medical reasons. The lowering of testosterone is what is needed for me (helps ovulation go smoother as the egg doesn't have trouble getting to the womb, helps smooth and clear my skin considerably, prevents my slight excess in body hair, fixes my moods which are associated with my cycle etc etc etc). It is just a side effect of the medication that lowers my testosterone (the pill) that it works as contraception (or would work as contraception if only I took it the same time every day). I'm not taking it for contraception at all... Might be worth thinking about...

Just the mood changes. And see my post...it's like f'ing clockwork.

Except lovely Aunt Flo decided to take a vacation...

Still hasn't come back

But all the tests were negative

If it was positive...it would not have been my husband's child

I am 99.999999999999999999999% sure we are getting a divorce.

I left a letter in my fire safe and gave him the key, told him to open it when our daughter is at daycare and he has someone for support.

I left my ring, with a copy of The Bachelor movie, and told him he has two choices:

a) Divorce
b) Propose to me on the top of the Eiffel Tower in Vegas. %#@&#! or get off the pot already, it has been nearly 8 f'ing years you can decide something for ONCE In your life, and you get 6 weeks to decide it

Depending on how I feel when I get out, I may or may not say yes.

My backup plan is to move in with my parents and help with my dad with Alzheimer's.
