This is a great Thread, thank you for your efforts and all the others offering supporting efforts. I will be checking back here each week with updates hopefully on what I can find!

..Since your posted mood is "I'm breezy" it would be great if you could indeed breeze right in weekly with what's fresh. The more people do likewise, the faster this thread will distill out a sensible short list of useful sites and references.

These forums at Psych Central are high tone and intelligently-interactive. It could happen fairly quickly.

There was mention in the past of an organization called "Leapforce". It got a few favorable mentions. Wonder if anyone has checked them out.

I have worked for a company called Working Solutions and they are an awesome company for at-home work. It is all phone work, but if you don't mind fielding customer service type calls, they are very reliable. They take in-bound calls for several Fortune 500 companies. If this is something you might like, it is definitely worth filling out an app. They pay every 2 weeks, and you can set up direct deposit. The pay is always there.

Thanks MamaKay, this is perfectly exactly what this thread is about.

If anyone has a good word to say about "a company called Working Solutions", or some sincerely-believed "unpleasant truth" to regretfully share about said company, they should jump in now.

At one point, several months ago, when Maranara (who either started the thread, or reactivated it) was very involved, there was robust interchange of tips and possibilities among viewers.

A company called 'Leapforce' was reviewed favorably, and there were several others, plus some search sites...

It has now been a week. Have you found anything to share in the way of an update?

I am the "anonymous" who started the thread. I'm glad some people are finding benefits from it.

Yes, Maranara, you have mentioned this in earlier postings (such as the 8/2013 "..Anonymous is me....I'm back!" captioned post). Maintaining a robust interchange of our experiences with companies and intermediaries--on this particular thread--is a great idea, and entirely to your credit!

Especially since some very early posts show that a few readers were rude to you (and rude in general) at the outset. (A no good deed goes unpunished kind of experience... But you stuck with it, and kept the thread going!)

I see much content online that doesn't really have to originate from anywhere in particular.

Virtual meetings are now just a matter of price. Surely these are arrows pointing toward more work becoming available from a home-based office...?

I have a very bad memory and didn't remember saying that before. Sorry.

Webcasts, virtual meetings are free with restrictions.

Corporate land move is back to the office and based on individual needs and capabilities which is how I think it should be. I think what you are seeing are more small businesses which is great. The main part of the business is not necessarily online working however.

Thanks again for this thread, Maranara.
I just finished a one-month subscription. The jobs are indeed legitimate: Most of the listings on FlexJobs offer the option to go to the original posting on the employer's website.

The only issue that I noticed was that with full-time telecommuting jobs (where you would be an employee of the company on a W-2 basis), a lot of the employers still wanted someone local. Maybe that's because of taxes or benefits like health plans. Freelance positions (1099 basis) were a little more flexible.

I didn't look at all of the different fields and professions, but for writing and editing, there were a lot of positions for educational curriculum development and medical writing, and most of them required graduate degrees and experience. The general communications positions tended to be marketing or public relations, and most of those required proven experience.

Not sure what kinds of jobs were available in other fields, but I got the general impression that there wasn't much entry-level work, or work suited for people who are reentering the workforce after long absences unless those who have been out of the workforce for a while kept their skills current somehow.

They accidentally charged my card after I cancelled my account. I left a voicemail for them on a Saturday and they called me on Monday. The customer service rep was very polite and professional, and they credited my card back within the week.

If you can spare 15 bucks and you have some experience in your field, it might be worth it just to take a look.

i found a listing of companies that hire, but the application and skills requirements are high. if you are just wondering what you have to do for $9/hr, this is a good read:

Well, you did what you had to do for many others. It's not all you get are bad, look how many thanked you for sharing. Please don't be discouraged to help, it's their opinion and it might had happened that they had bad experience with the website.

No doubt, that's it's great information guide. However, I would like to know your thoughts on those sites claiming to earn $1000, $500, $200 a day. Are they really legit or just a way to earn money for them.
