I have an industrial piercing in my upper ear; silver. I have clear balls but the bar is still visible. I have an internship interview this afternoon. Should I take it out or would my pearls in my lower ear be fine with the bar?

I feel like I should take it out, but it would be the first time I have gone without it since I literally got it pierced. And I just stretched it up a gauge.

It depends on where your internship is. In a creative environment I would not worry but an office or medical setting I'd say no.

If your interviewers are older i'd say no, the younger they are the more I think it would be ok.

Good luck !!

I have a nose piercing and interviewed for software developer jobs and had no problem. It depends on your industry, as some allow for variances in appearance. If say, the internship is at a really fancy or prestigious financial firm I'd take it out. If it's not, I'd leave it in.

Hey there! Okay, update.

I intended to take the piercing out just before the interview but I legitimately forgot. In that interview, I asked point blank if I needed to remove the piercing in which they said absolutely not. The internship is at the department of corrections (jail) and they, oddly, have a rather lax dress code in regards to hair/piercings, etc.

I ended up going to a second interview, in which, I also forgot to take it out (again, I never take it out so its not "habit, and i've only changed the balls like 2x ever). There was no comment on it but I did also notice that my ears sit back in a position to where head on, you can't actually see the piercing.

I still feel that traditionally, the piercing may be a bit taboo, but gratefully in this case - it was totally fine. Thanks for the opinions though! And, btw, I got the intership
