Now that I graduated from high school, I don't know what to do.. should I work right away? But what work should I do? I can't really do anything..
Should I study? Go to university? But what do I study? I don't know.. and besides, I'm terrible at studying so I probably won't do well anyway.

What should I do? I really have no idea..

Well do you have any money? If I had to do it all over again I would travel. Then I would work just because I find myself more motivated in school after working. As for what to do.. why do you want to do?

Personally if I had it to do over again I would look for some sort of teaching job. The job is stable... you probably won't get fired, you get summers off and you get a pension.

Second on my list of do overs is starting my own business. This is the time to do it, when you have little to lose and lots of energy. What kind of business.. for me it would be something to do with real estate but who knows. If it fails now you can just get a job and it would look good on your resume.

I agree is there anything you want to see. Travel I didn't but there isn't much I want to see.

Mh :/ Well, I don't really like travelling tbh.. unless you meant moving to another country? Which is a big step, I'm not sure I feel ready for it..

Well travel anyway. I didn't want to do it went I was younger and now I have no option so...

Keep in mind I'm in Italy.. anyway, thank you for the advice I'll keep it into consideration.

I was in a bit of a quandary so i took a seasonal job with lots of hours but a no brainer so wasnt stressed just bit tired out physically. Used money to go away on long weekends coming home in between. Just backpacked around my own country.
Now i know exactly what to study and i have a plan. But i have been very ill and had to face prospect of just living day to day unsure of future. You are young so accept tjhe uncertainty and be spontaneous. You have all your life to work. Its not about the destinationn but enjoy the journey there!

Does your country have an option to join the military? I do not regret my time in the military. Yesterday, I had an interview for an insignificant part time job. The person interviewing me served in the Coast Guard for 31 years. Their was an instant connnection because we both served. This has happened to me countless times. In the US, many companies/government agencies will hire the veteran when the applicants are equally qualified. I do not know if that mindset exists in Italy. I received training, worked with people from all over my country, traveled, and just learned a lot about myself while serving. Also--if you do have the option to join, they will likely give you a test to help determine what specialty you are best suited for.

The military is not a soft option. You cannot leave for a set number of years unless you are discharged on health grounds. You go awol they arrest you. Not to mention putting your life at risk. Risk of ending up with ptsd or injured. My grandfather joined because he had not much choic e he was an orphan and my dad joined at 15 because home life was difficult and there wasnt much choice at the time either. He would never have left and never got over the loss,he lived in the past. So i vowed never to turn out like that. If he couldn,t do a "mans" job he prefered to sit n chain smoke all day watching black n white war films.
I couldnt have someone else dictate my life for me, a drill sergeant screaming in my face, this idea that they are the best. I never wanted to be a hero.
So i dont agree with compulsory service to discipline the wayward youth of today. Evidently.

Of course I am not offended. My son nearly joined the navy but in the end--he told an expanded version of what you are telling me here.

No one is happy all of the time but a sure way to be unhappy is to not feel in control of your own life. Check out the audio book I posted since I think that when we have good self esteem, it is easier to take the right steps toward future success:

I was just supporting your statement when you said it is not for you. I am maybe just biased because I applied for the Navy and the interviewer, was quite brutal and basically told me I was not intelligent enough for the job I wished to do. Personally I think I would have been if I had not suffered from my affliction.
Travelling is a sure fire way to "find yourself." You don't have to move away, just take holidays much as you can. Maybe you should make your goal, not finding the career, but finding your soulmate.
