I'm still applying for jobs and had a conversation with a recruiter sounded interesting as it pays two dollars more
He sent over my resume to the client. Right now I've been getting emails of turning me down left and right.

I'm already at the edge of handing my equipment over to my job saying peace out that breaking point of snapping. All I do is apply to jobs I got a new schedule at work 2nd shift I hate it. We are gonna have another shift bid next month!

My job is making it harder for us employees they dont want us to have a life outside of work. I havent had any interviews yet all it is just talking to recruiters the usual never hear back at all even with a follow up email. The office is so toxic, back stabbers, liars, unprofessional management, not to mention incompetent management, agents quitting left and right, etc. Company merged with a corporate giant company I'm seeing the ridiculous new rules being imposed.

I've been asking around if other peoples jobs are hiring and so far no or its something lower pay. It feels like I'm on my knees begging and shouldn't have too. Too much unnecessary waiting I have trimmed down my resume a lot and add in the keywords from job descriptions. Who you know didnt seem to work 4 me too much.

I hate where I work and hate working in call centers. What do you do if you're at the border of snapping wanting to hand over your equipment and say bye vs how much longer do u still have to put up with it while waiting for a job offer to come by? If I had the $ like 50k in the bank, I'd live off that while job hunting.

I worked for the company for 2 years now I've been so nasty, combative, argumentative, etc just the toxicity of the office puts me in a bad mood. Now I'm back to working from home again.

Not to mention people in my biz all the yet need to check others who aren't doing their jobs! The unlimited amount of stress I get daily hasn't been good 4 me I dont like working in stressful jobs but this job has 2 much stress wonder why so many people at work smoke a lot!

I know everybody says dont leave until you have a job lined up. I know that's true I still dont have a plan b yet.

I work for a well-known turkey processing plant, which rhymes with UTTER-gall. While I admit that lately things have greatly improved...it has been a hellish ride. They did not care about their employees at all. There was NO excuse for missing work, not even a doctor's note would excuse you from getting an absence. 6 and you were gone. For years, they would work us six days a week ten hours a day. I almost quit about 4 years ago. I actually stormed out of there but the HR director stopped me and asked me to reconsider.

They have recently changed the occurrence system to where you can get a planned absence if you give them 24 or more hours notice. This has helped a lot and I don't dread the idea of Monday like a trip to the guillotine. Also...we now have set hours. BUT...took them long enough to see us as anything else except their personal property..

About the 2nd shift? When they started it, I asked for it and should have gotten it. I had been there longer than the majority of people who wanted it at the time. I did not get it. I called in the next day after finding out I had been passed over. I don't mean to brag, but I am one of the better employees. I NEVER leave the line to take a break during run time, I also am not a habitual call in. I help in other areas when asked. THIS is probably why I didn't get 2nd shift. The day supe didn't want to let go of me. (jerk off) but anyway, I feel you. Also, I worked in that environment all through menopause, and I was a very unpleasant individual outside of work because of it.

That really sucks nothing but disrespect these days.

I mean the question for everybody is what do you do if you're at the border of saying **** it I'm out vs staying at the job until something better comes along and still waiting/applying to other jobs? I'm at the point of almost snapping.

it is awful to hear this situation of yours in this day in age. i thought companies were suppossed to abide by some type of rules for their employees. i fee for you, i have worked long hours with only half hour breaks once a day but that was in the 70s.good luck

Sorry to hear about your situation.

I was in a similar situation in 2016. My job was so bad it was giving me panic attacks and I'd come home from meetings crying. Plus I wasn't being paid much for all the crap I had to put up with. In my case, we could get by on my husband's salary and we talked it over and I decided to quit.

Medusax - your company really doesn't treat people well. It makes me glad I live in a country where we get guaranteed vacation time/holidays and sick leave by law.

For me I'm only one income. I'm gonna be applying to jobs today. A 2nd job is not in the cards right now every time I tell an employer I need a 2nd income they want me to leave my full time job and be only part time with them nothing else. I said no u can keep the position.

I've come home crying from work and high stress. I've gone into the office with high stress and left with high stress

That´s a terrible way to live, with so much work stress. I really hope you can find something better soon.

Hi!! We DO get vacation...I have been there long enough to have three paid weeks per year. And like I said..it is better than it used to be...BUT...that could change.

It really depends on what you think is more important.
Your job or your health. I had to quit jobs before, but I thought my health is much more important than letting some job get to me. I could tell those jobs were starting to affect my health, and it was a very toxic environment as I call it.

I totally agree. I know a job shouldn't affect me but this has been a nightmare since the very beginning. I need back up money though. I'm not saying I want to give up but my mental health is more important than what I'm getting paid

Unfortunately you don't really know what the right decision is until after the fact . There is a point where you just need to leave a job even if you have no immediate prospects . But also , no income and no prospects aren't much good for mental health either . If possible secure another position before you leave your current job . If it gets to breaking point then make the best of that . You only really know if it was a good idea to leave a job a year later .

I agree about lining something else up, first. Interviewing while currently employed seems like it works out better for landing new jobs for everyone that I know that has done it.

At my current job, about 4 years ago, I packed up my desk one day, I was coy but on that cusp. I do understand breaking points. It wasn't really the job itself. Something happened as those working on the contract committee started unravelling a few things. And it had an indirect and unintented effect on what I was dealing with.

I'm glad that I stayed. Not that staying is the answer for everyone. Reviewing and revising resumes and looking elsewhere helps a lot.

I am totally at that breaking point. Since the moment I got this job I have been trying to hold on. That is 14 years. All 14 years have sucked.

I finally got a great boss and the reality is.. I STILL HATE THE JOB.

So at this point I am wondering.. I have one life.. one.. and if I spend my life at a job I hate... what will that do to me?

On the other hand, what if I leave the job and still am not happy but now have no insurance and money?

I am trying to take more leave time. But it is tough. My job is such that without me... no one does anything. SO when I leave everything falls apart. This week I am taking a vacation and I am NOT checking in. Maybe people will get it.

Exactly! I've been applying to jobs all day today. Zero communication at my job my schedule changed again today very last minute only for temp.

Then we will get a new shift next month!!

The breaking point for me was I felt my agitation coming back full force with no way to stop it plus my supervisor was riding me plus my projects were in dire straits. I opted to quit the Air Force and file for disability (after a couple short-term jobs which I couldn't hold). I'm happy with my decision.

I heard about a friend of a friend who had a similar experience with the Air Force.

I just hate the way that my job seems to be an endless series of questions and people being inconsiderate. For instance someone wanted to talk with my boss today. He called on Friday, i talked with my boss, and my boss said, lets talk more about it.. but he never did. I went on vacation and the guy calls again and gets all my bosses involved. All because THAT guy wanted to talk.

I hate the way I am forever the person keeping someone else on track. And what do I get for it? They just get less and less responsible because they have me.

I am tried of never being able to take time off. Though I have time to take, it is impossible to break the constant flow of people NOT planning ahead.

I am on vacation right now I am trying to break from the workplace. But it is hard.

I was thinking right now I'm managing a 3rd team brand new agents. Does it make sense if I should talk to my boss or ops manager about my feelings? Of course I trust nothing at work this new operation manager is awesome.

I dont want to leave my new team but at the same time it's for my own career interests. This is a new sup and new team. I havent made any decisions yet

I've been at similar breaking points as you and have walked out on THREE different jobs and always landed on my feet. My solution? Temp office work. Temp agencies can put you to work the next day... yes, for minimal hourly pay, but it's something and better than nothing. Sorry, I didn't read every single response to see if this was offered and if it's available as a solution where you live. But, I understand completely and have been there, done that so I fully empathize.

I am a big believer in tempting as well. At one point I had the opportunity to become a perm. temp. They wanted me to just be a temp. I probably should have taken it. We even got health insurance as long as we worked a certain number of days.

I have actually temped a lot in my life. It cuts out all the bad things about work.

In my state temps dont put u to work the next day. I'm still talking to recruiters and nothing offered not to mention never hearing back. I get temp offers daily they gotta talk to the client etc it's a tedious process then ur lucky if u hear back.

I hate my job. Every day I want to quit but I haven’t been able to find anything with the same pay and benefits so I keep staying and hoping it will get better.
