Yesterday was my last day at work. I cried. I didn't expect it to be emotional. Now I am worrying and feel anxious because I struggled to find a job before this one while the economy was better, and the bad experiences (rejections) have started to come back to me. I am easily affected by rejections. One rejection can make me depressed for days. It reinforces my self-image that I am not good enough.

Hi Diurnal. I am so sorry for the loss of your job. That must be rough to go through. Often our self esteem can be based on having a job and doing it successfully.

Have you applied for unemployment insurance? Even though you are still looking for a job, unemployment insurance in US at least helps you pay expenses

@Diurnal,
sounds like a good idea. Employers pay into the pool all the years we work and we only use it when we really need it

apply to unemployment insurance if enough hours.

Lost of a job is very high stress(close to death of a close one)

You have to find ways to Raise up your self esteem but also.you probably need
to grieve and all now ..... Try to find ways to "thicken" your emotional boundary if possible, even a bit. i got fired myself (again , adhd and stress anger) and it crushes you after many repeat all over the years.

investigate this site and take care of yourself.

Just know that it happened to many people this year. I also got made redundant. I got my last pay in October this year. Just remain focused and work to find your next job, i would say that we should try and get into a hospital or retail or a food outlet. They do not get rid of employees.
