The new coworker is my boss’s future child-in-law. When I was informed of this fact by my boss, I questioned whether this was a conflict of interest. My boss claimed it was a conflict of interest only if their child and my new coworker were married.

No surprise the new coworker is getting special treatment. My boss has been at another office helping this week so far, leaving me to run our office, do my job, and train the new coworker. I’m not sure if I will see my boss today, you know, because they worked “so hard” this week.

I have choices. I may not like the choices I have, but I still have them.

The odd thing is, I always got the impression my boss disliked this person based on the fact that they only ever brought them up in conversation to **** talk them. Granted, my boss is a huge **** talker, & then saccharine sweet to their face.

This place is a joke! Good thing I’m in a union. I’m about to go off.

Ok, my boss and I had a conversation about this yesterday morning. They claim they will enforce the rules, but I’m not holding my breath. First they claimed that the new coworker is under a different set of rules because they’re part time, which is bull ****. They said “That’s what I was told.” LOL, by whom? The voices in your head?

The important thing was I spoke my piece. Now maybe my feelings will fester less? I’m going to release my expectations around this as much as possible: my expectations both of others and myself. My boss was like “I don’t want to have a hostile workplace.” That is rich. I am going to ask one of my other coworkers leaving next month if they will be a referenice for me if I decide to leave.

I also have a list of three other coworkers I will ask for references as well. I still have what I wrote to apply for this job that will work for other jobs. I don’t want to leave; I want to hold on to this job as long as I can. I also know how quickly these situations can deteriorate, so I want to be as prepared as possible for any future outcomes.

Didn't you basically just throw a bunch of people under the bus?

My coworker lied about her mom dying and I was the only one who knew she lied and I never told anyone.

Remember that saying "snitches get stitches.."

Hopefully your boss isnt a bigger of an *** now that you talked to him.

That’s one way of looking at it.
