Sooo I only drank 3 glasses yesterday... I know I should've went without any all day, but normally I'd drink WAAAAAY more than that, so I'm feeling kind of proud of myself...hopefully I can do better today. I'm tired of letting my family down. I'm praying one day they'll be truly proud of me.

Another good thing you can do to help you reduce a bad habit is to build up a good one... think of something you enjoy doing that's not damaging, and do more and more of that as you do less and less of the booze. |

Hi ~ Good for you. Now if you only drank 3 glasses yesterday, prove that you can go WITHOUT today!!! You CAN do this!!! I did! After 20 years of drinking HEAVILY -- by heavily, I mean a case of beer and then I hit the hard liquor in one night!! I quit cold-turkey!! In a few months I'll have 18 years clean/sober!! if I can do it, so can you. Please join me on a wonderful sober journey -- you wouldn't believe how GREAT life is when you're SOBER.

You are heading in the right direction. I know someone (possibly me) has already suggested this site, but here is a really good set of tools you can use for recovery: www.medhelp.org If you join up, you get free trackers... just pick the ones that apply to you. For example, I'm using the mood one, and the excercise one ... there's also an addiction tracker. Should help you identify triggers. Oh... by the way... have you heard of milkthistle? See if you can get hold of some. It's very good for your liver... helps repair it more rapidly. Drinking plenty of (non alcholic) fluids, and taking something to help your liver will also make giving up easier. Keep up the good work... we're all rooting for you. Let us know here tomorrow how you do... no matter how you do, we'll still be cheering you on. |
