Day 3, and still standing strong. I've been chewing gum like crazy and avoiding going out back (that's where I smoked, outside on back porch). I fear if I go out back I will smoke.

I've been doing a lot to kill time. I've been going on walks, cleaning, playing with my kids, and even taking my kids down to the park to get free lunch everyday.

I'm sure it's strange for people, especially my husband, mom, and sister, to see my without a cigarette in my hand. Not having a cigarette is a better look for me anyway.

I wonder how long it takes for it too get easier. 3 days and it's still difficult. Maybe a week or two and I won't think about cigarettes as much. At least I hope.

There's this annoying part of my brain that says "just one, nobody will know, it won't hurt, and is it worth it", but for some reason I still have strength over it, like a silent power has taken over me. Whatever it is, I'm glad it's there to get me through this.

Thanks all so much for being there for me. It means a lot to me.

I can't tell you how much I empathize with you right now. How much I understand.

You are really doing so very well. Very proud of you!!

Day 3 is still hard .... but it does get easier .... it does get better ... it really does. I promise.

You are really doing so well. Please reward yourself .... that is important too. (Buy a pretty dress or something with the money saved from not buying cig's).

Keep that strength of yours - I'll be sending you many strong vibes too!

Well done Desirae!!! Really well done!

I've always heard that the first 3 days are the hardest. Don't listen to the crazy committee in your head telling you to light up! Keep doing what you're doing to kill time! Sounds like the kids probably appreciate it, and doesn't your place look amazing! I'm very proud of you Desirae. That is so awesome!!!

Thanks so much. I agree I think it has gotten a little easier. Instead of craving cigarettes, I'm beginning to crave food instead. I know that's not good, but still better then nicotine. Earlier I was craving a pepperoni roll, and now I'm craving baked salmon with lots of lemon juice....hmmmmmm.

My sister gave me a bunch of these dual ice breaker tubs, there's gum on one side and mints on the other, they're really really strong and sugar free. Those really hope alot.

I'm so glad all of you guys have been there for me, I'm still standing strong and getting through it. My mind has cleared as well, it's not arguing as much anymore...lol

It is almost like being pregnant, isn't it??? Everytime I craved I climbed on my elliptical trainer and just worked out gently for the length of time it would of taken me to have the cig.

I also kept tubs of carrot and cucumber sticks when I was at the computer. (Didn't always help, but I tried).

Desirae, you are doing SOOOO well, especially under the circumstances.

Very proud of your achievement thus far!!!

That's exactly what it feels like, like I'm pregnant again. The cravings are that intense.

I was walking everyday but it's been raining here for the past three days and we expect two more too go. But thanks to cable there's this channel called FIT TV, and it has exercise videos all day long. I especially like the Pilate's and Yoga videos.

I am not only proud I made it this far, but I am in shock as well. If I can do this, then I'm sure I can accomplish more.

Thanks a lot Sabrina....your support means so much.

I am glad that you acknowledge your achievement and that you are proud. That is so important as often we forget to "pat ourselves on the back".

Whatever money you have saved so far by not buying cig's, please use it to buy yourself something nice. Not babies ... YOU! Reward yourself, you deserve it.

My parents were smokers and they both quit using peppermint lifesavers, they swear by them. They would call them their cigarette pills... LOL

You can do it!
