Fear inventory - 12 steppers I need your help

I try to apply the 12 steps to all my issues. The last two nights, there has been a tarantula outside my door. So paralyzing was the fear the second night because I was alone, that I was hysterically sobbing on the phone with my boyfriend, and he insisted on coming to my rescue. Until he got there, I hid in my car. I would like some experience strength and hope on how to apply the 12 steps to this irrational fear. I'll be calling my sponsor as well. I posted about this in Anxiety too. I won't be held hostage by this fear, I didn't get sober to live in fear of tarantulas. What say you?

A real tarantula? I don’t think I have ever seen one that wasn’t in a pet shop or something like that.

Does it belong to someone? If it is real, and it doesn’t belong to the kid next door, kill it. Whack it with a newspaper. It is just a bug after all.

Here is a thought, catch it, and keep it yourself. That might be great therapy.

Ooooh noooo I couldn't get close enough to kill it. Plus, the apartment manager doesn't want us killing them. They're good pest control. It was definetly real. I live in the desert haha. Waiting for my sponsor to call me back. Need to do something to get passed this paralyzing fear.

Eeeek!! - just the thought of a spider sends ME running in the opposite direction.... here in Florida, in the country, we get a lot of large Wood-Spiders that come in during the raining season (and) this is one of those times that I let my female independence go and YELL for my husbands help.... he catches them and places them back outside where they live / belong.
