Fell off the wagon on Saturday. Not feeling too bad about it either, didn't drink myself into a coma & didn't make an *** out of myself which is much better than I used to be

Nice work Yukari! Take things moment by moment if you have to. I go day by day. Wake up in the morning and tell myself today I'm not using or drinking. I don't like to think too far ahead.

Hope you are doing Ok today.

Yukari
Thanks for this!

Hi anewchapter – I like the username. Quitting drinking is just that. A new chapter in your life. It feels so good to feel in control.

Do you have a game plan on how you are going to stay sober?

And back to 0. I won't punish myself, because despite my habit. Welfare have declared that I am fit to continue caring for my kids at home.
The stress involved in all the meetings and reports was....excruciating, but I have an awesome team of workers on my side.
So I thank my lucky stars for that.
Time to start another game plan.

I got caught shoplifting today, but they didn't even apprehend me, just asked me nicely to return their things back and leave the store. Also, they banned me forever from their stores so I can't go in anymore, but I'm counting myself lucky to not have been apprehended. They might have thought I was a minor and stuff or didn't want to cause a commotion, but yah, I won't shoplift ever again. After a month clean though! And it sent me a warning if next time I shoplift again. Don't want to get a criminal record or anything like that so I'd stop before that.
Thanks for this!

Anyway I started with psychiatrist and I was self medicating, did not want too admit, or face stigma of mental illness, but look jumped right into another stigma addiction. Anyway I'm 40 now been 6 years clean, I take medication for some mental issues but that's all, antidepressants,ADHD meds, etc. But have got my emotions in check , nice and level!!!!

The people in this world are so messed up, so full of themselves, on some kind of weird POWER TRIP, is it any wonder that many of us have to drink and self medicate in some way to deal with it all?

I've been shopping so much that I got an alert from my bank that my account is low on funds. I've really got to try not to buy anything else until the 1st when I get more SSI money or I may be overdrawn. All the bills have been paid thankfully.

I finally got to avoid my triggers, by not going to jewelry store. My need or want of them didn't arise since my last relapse, so I've been clean for 2 weeks now, being satisfied with what I've got.
Thanks for this!
